I have yet to hear anything from UT yet. I know I'll get my response this month, so I'm super nervous! Wondering has anyone instate, not in the top 8%, gotten in or declined?

Also, does UT take race into consideration? I'm African-American.

Did you not get admitted to UT so far? Usually the university admits while departments you applied to figure out whether you make the cut.

UT currently has a policy considering race if you don’t meet the auto admit criteria but this process is tied up in supreme court. Top 8% is exactly what it says it is with no other considerations.

My son was in-state, non top 9% (limit last year) and saw his status change at the end of February in 2012. He never did receive an acceptance letter.

I am in-state and was admitted earlier at the end of last year (applied before priority) from a school that doesn’t rank, though my stats would place me in the 8% if they did rank. Good luck. (:

I would also say to check your mystatus fairly often-- I never received a letter of admission from the university or email, I had just happened to be checking my email that day.

I feel you man. I applied november and havent heard a response. I’ve been checking my ut mystatus everyday. I hope ut will start responding to us soon.

@lisiatc, Ugh! I’m so tired of waiting! @explodingtoenail, I’m going for Natural Sciences too! Good luck. @ATexas, What did it say before then? Mine says it’s in review as well.

I am an in-state student at a large public school, I am not in the top 8% and received admissions to UT, my major, and honors programs all before mid December 2012. I was proactive and applied August 2nd :)

Also a non-top 8% here. At a private non-ranking school, and I applied to CNS in October. Im still waiting on a response (mystatus has said in review the whole time), but I’m hoping to hear by the end of the week. I applied to the SHAPE program and they are notifying acceptance by Feb. 11 so I’m worried if I’m not accepted by then, I wont get into the program.
