Hi all, I've been studying since January for my SAT, but I've seen some marginal improvement (1720 to around a 1950), but I still don't feel prepared enough to take the test. Any last minute study strategies to help me out? Critical Reading is my worst subject, and it's impossible for me to know what these crazy words mean on the SAT, since they are always different!

Yours scores are already solid, and I am also in your boat for tomorrows SAT.

First of all, just relax. Stressing out over the exam will make it more difficult to sleep tonight and concentrate tomorrow during testing.

For last minute study strategies, I would review some CR questions in your SAT book (if you have one that is). Also, I have been preparing for the SAT with the Huntington Learning Center and have definitely seen improvement in vocabulary. Although memorization will not help you out at this point, taking a look at what is called the ‘SAT’s Top 66 Words’ will help you get familiar with the vocabulary words that are most seen on the SAT: http://huntingtonlearning.com/PDFs/Huntington-High-Top66.pdf

Keep in mind that the SAT test makers LOVE to stretch the definition of these words are far as possible, so don’t be surprised. Also - if you haven’t already, do a final review of roots or prefixes and suffixes as they will help you identify words you may not know, but give you a general meaning of what the definition may be.

Good luck.

I concur with what TheWarrent said:)
Read through the passage for the first time quickly, dont pause but make sure you pick up the gist of it. Then go on to the questions and only spend time on those sections that are mentioned in the question.

I’m doing mine tomorrow as well, for the first time ever!! -___-
Good luck to the both of you, and dont panic, like I’m doing :)
