any limit to number of times you can take th ACT

is there any limit to the number of times a person can take the ACT? My son took it in grade 7 as part of the Duke TIP, then again in grade 9 as part of the admission process for a math/science hs. as a sophmore he took it again. He is currently a junior and will want to take it towards the end of this year.
what scores would be sent to any colleges that he will apply for.
(i dont think the 1st 2 should even count but have no idea how act are reported)

Your son can take the ACT as many times as he wants and there is no penalty for it. Because ACT has a score report option, he can send whatever scores he wants to the colleges/universities he's applying to.

So basically your son will be able to choose which scores he wants to send.

thanks guitarman89!, he thought they had a limit. he has only had his scores sent to his hs so far obviously, (i'm not sure if those would show up on a hs school transcript or not.) He has taken the SAT once and just took the psat, but i think he scores better on the ACT test. so think he can look at taking act again and subject test and probably sat once more.

what the hell? I just found this…How often can students take the ACT?
A student may take the ACT no more than twelve (12) times total and only once per national test date. Many students take the test twice, once as a junior and again as a senior.

ok anyone that takes it 12 times should be immediately stopped anyways lol

it depends on the student. I have taken it 6 times already with constant improvement
