Any News?

cmdad1, it sounds like the heavy envelope we got yesterday with good news!

cmdad1, sounds like an acceptance! mine said the same thing on the back. good luck to your son!

It was good news, my son was accepted.

$50,000 scholarship! Congrats to everyone!

D’s in, also with a $50,000 scholarship!

D got the envelope. 60K scholarship plus a great grant. This puts it back near the top.

How do you get a $60K scholarship when the whole cost per year is only @$50K?

It’s 60k over 4 years. Aka 15k a year.

I’ve been re-checking admissions blogs recently for the colleges my daughter is applying to (OCD?? Why, no!) I had given up on Goucher’s a while back because it hadn’t been updated since the fall, but it looks like it’s back, if anyone is interested: [Goucher College Admissions](http://blogs.goucher.edu/admissions/)

Has anyone been notified that is a transfer student?

I just received a postcard congratulating me on my admission, and inviting me to an admissions ceremony in my area.

I haven’t received a package or email, so I guess this is my first formal acknowledgement of acceptance.

Congrats peacelovesoul!

Has anyone else heard? A friend told me her daughter was accepted last week. Last year, it seems quite a few rd people heard Mar 12-15. I was really hoping my daughter would hear something by today. (Preferably hear something along the lines of “Yes, you’re accepted!”)

thanks snoozn. Idk why this part of the board is so dead, I was under the impression that more people on here would’ve have applied to Goucher but maybe not.

I wouldn’t neccessarily loose hope for your daughter, but I know that after I received my post card, the following day I received an e-mail confirming my acceptance and letting me know that I would recieve my package in the mail.

Last week I received the package so idk?

I just got my acceptance letter today, along with a $40,000 scholarship.

Congrats Nicole!

Still no news here…

…wait…wait…wait…

A little delayed, but I got in with EA. $28,000 in Scholarship, with the potential to match another I received from Redlands. I’m on the fence between Goucher for 4 years, and Mt. Holyoke for 3.5 - with half a year in Europe. Any thoughts?

My daughter finally got the big packet yesterday. $10,000/yr scholarship, but unfortunately that’s not enough, so Goucher falls off the list. From the letter, it seems they’ve become way more selective than they used to be.

miche, I thought Goucher required study abroad, so why couldn’t you go there with half a year in Europe? At any rate, Goucher and Mt. Holyoke are both excellent schools, so you can’t go wrong with either choice.

Best of luck to everybody; for those attending, I still think it’s a great school!
