Any news?

Anyone heard anything back yet? Anyone know when they will send those letters?

I’m curious if USC uses an outside vendor to put together the acceptance packages and mail them out? Hmmmmm, I bet they would have the top secret list.

By looking at last year threads, it seems that most people got their letters on January 25th, that’s in two days!!!

day after tomorrow*

…but the 25th was on a Tuesday last year. Maybe tomorrow?

I called and they said they were behind on reading apps and were trying to mail letters at end of week.

Faniovnerjnfoiasnv ndiofnavnfdiovnoian

How could they be behind on reading apps? Decisions about scholarships were made weeks ago. Its just a matter of when they mail it. Its not as if they are making last second decisions as they mail.

From this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/1279655-usconnect-statuses-2.html

Heh, I posted that update of the mailing process ^^^ on the other thread. It indicates that notification will still be by USPS mail (although we have yet to hear if online statuses will change or if this year email notifications will also go out).

Good luck everyone.

The admission packets were sent priority mail last year via USPS. Recipients in the Los Angeles area were the first to receive them.

Due to the use of the Common Application procedures may have changed for this admission season. We are waiting…just as you are for the good news.

I’m so confused! Is everyone receiving their decision soon or just the kids that got the scholarships? I thought people didn’t find out until March!

just the kids that got the scholarships find out early.

In the past, it has been those selected to interview for Trusteee/Presidential scholarship that heard in late January/early Feb. This is an invitation to interview, not a complete guarantee (although from self-reports on CC, there is a high likelihood).

No USC gifts delivered in today’s mail. Good luck to everyone!

PS. Local, 1-hour away.

So no locals have heard so far today? We’re back east, and will be several days behind the rest of you :-(

Also nothing in our mail today; in SoCal also, about 1/2 hour away from USC. It’s possible the OP has wrong info about their friend’s mail, or it’s possible we won’t EVER get a letter from USC…

I’m in Norcal, and nothing in the mail today!

Not that I anxiously raced home from school or anything…haha.

Are the Presidential and Trustee based solely on grades/test scores? Or does it include EC’s? And what is average stats for recipients?

Also, about how many people get the interview requests? Because I know a small number of people actually get the scholarships, but I wanted to know how many people get the early acceptances.

@SoccerWolfP: If you want to see the stats of those accepted last year, check this thread out. It provides a good sampling of what USC is looking for. It helped me a lot because I got to see the variety of students they admit. It’s not always about getting a 2300+. Granted, many of the recipients of scholarships have very high standardized test scores…they prove to be really outstanding across the board.
Also I think the percentage of early acceptances is very small. I remember seeing the number 4…so I’m guessing about 4% last year heard back before March.
