Any one accepted at top notch med schools?

mdapplicants.com is something fun to look at but I wouldn't really try to draw any conclusions form the profiles on there.

WOW! Harvard really is "fuzzy". Seems like the person's URM status and community service are what made up for their GPA and MCAT.

He'd have to describe his "community outreach" more for us to have a better idea. But yes, you see what I mean.

my goodness, how many med schools does the average person apply to and how much does it cost????? Even if it were 100$ per school...the number of schools other people apply to...thats a years tuition.

The average applicant applies to 12.3 medical schools.

The primary application costs $130 plus $30 for each school you apply to.

Any school to which you send a secondary will cost anywhere from $60-$110. In my experience, it's usually around $75-$90.

These can usually be waived if you can demonstrate financial hardship.

Interviews involve travel -- often flying and hotel rooms. The costs can be reduced by staying with student hosts, etc. These are self-funded and I do not know of any sources of funding.
