The course Culture and Communication is a prereq for UCLA anthropology applicants. This course is not offered in my district and I can't find any campuses that offer it. Do you think this will affect our chances of getting in? Did anyone actually complete that course? If so, where did you take it; it's the only course I am missing for prereqs.

Not that I’m an anthropology major, but I think I can say with certainty that UCLA won’t hold it against you for not completing a pre-req class that isn’t offered at your community college. Your chances of gaining admission will most likely remain the same.

However, if you do get admitted, you’ll have to take that class at UCLA.

I’m also an Anthropology major and I applied to UCLA as well. My JC doesn’t offer Anthro 7, 8, 9, 12, or 33 (Culture and Comm). All of those listed courses are apparently (5) unit classes so I’m assuming these are supposed to be taken at UCLA. In any case, they aren’t going to penalize you if your JC doesn’t offer the courses.
