The Common App shows no options for other fee wavier request form. As an international I donot qualify for NacCA or something like that wavier. I contacted adcoms but may be they are already on holidays. Has anyone applied for alternative fee waviers before? Are they accepted? That would be helpful.

I thinkl you’re supposed to get a letter from your counselor explaining why you should get a fee waiver (for example. you’re going through financial hardship)

I emailed them as well, got an asnwer last night. They said to send them my letter and select that a fee waiver was requested. Which did me little good, as I had also told them that there is no option for me to select. So today I just selected the NACAC fee waiver. And if they say it wasn’t good, I’ll tell them they gave me no other option. I wanted to wait after they come from their break and tell them again, but that would be too late

Maybe I should follow alisyn. I tried to submit my CA today, but it didn’t work because there’s no choice for other fee waiver request though I have my counselor submit my fee waiver form. But I’m a gap year student. I’m afraid, alysin, that they don’t accept NACAC fee waiver :((. I’m so worried.

I’m not the only one!!!. I’m also on a gap year, and I did what alisyn said and just selected the NACAC waiver and then emailed them the letter my counselor wrote about waiving the fee. So I’m hoping they accept it.

If the fee will present a considerable financial hardship for you and your family, you may ask your guidance counselor to submit a Fee Waiver Request at the time you apply for admission.

OK because you guys have selected that. I would be confident enough to follow you. :-S Hope they accept because there’s no “other fee waiver request” option :(

Brown’s website clearly states that you can ask your counselor to submit a letter for the application fee to be waived, yet their Common App has no option for this. Moreover, CA won’t allow you to submit the application until the fee is paid. So the way I see it, there are two options: 1) I can run the risk of not applying before the deadline and call them tomorrow when they re-open to find out the correct procedure or 2) selecting the NACAC fee waiver so that I can submit the application before the deadline, and then call them tomorrow and inform them of the issue.

Same problem here. All of my schools except for Brown accept “Other fee waiver”–my counselor wrote a letter to each school explaining financial difficulty.

Just ended up paying and not taking the risk, even though my parents are paying for three college siblings .

I got some fee waivers from ECO, expanding college opportunities, and the program seems legit from what I’ve found about it.

Since there was no other fee choice option, we paid the money to be safe and I’m going to send an email asking if we could get reimbursed in exchange for the waiver.
