I’ve watched " An Affair To Remember" and the three “Twilight” movies this weekend (baby chick flicks?). Need to add the chocolate…
I’m a teacher starting back to work tomorrow, and I am so so hoping I can keep it together when my friends ask how I’m doing. My only launches on Friday and they do NOT really want to hear about how I am.

missypie, you are right, being 30-40 yrs. old still at home getting pampered by ma and pa is weird; I agree with your post.

snapdragonfly, I own two cats and think your way of coping by adopting several kitties is wonderful. I could definitely see how that would help.

scoutsmom, I am an aide in school and started back to work today. I just let anyone know who asked that I was kinda miserable right now. I actually received great support from other women I work with who’ve sent kids off to school; I hope that is your experience when you head back to work, too.

In reading a number of posts, it surprises me how many of us on this thread have onlys we’re sending to college.

Thanks writestuff. DD just got a new laptop, so we can use the old one to skype with her. I’m not really worried about communications, she’ll be calling a lot, at least in the beginning, she’s the type that loved to share all the highs and lows of each moment of high school.

It’s just going to be very quiet around here.

We are leaving early tomorrow morning to take our oldest to school. So many emotions! Mostly gratitude that he is so excited and content. He is a lot like me, we have an easy relationship and I will miss him terribly. Planning for some tears for sure. But I sure as heck wouldn’t want him to still be at home in 20 years ;)

It’s been a week and 3 days since we dropped daughter off across country. I truly miss the all the mundane details of her life that she shared with me the most. We usually will get a call in between classes (campus is huge) We leave the skyping for her to initiate, wish that and the texting was more often. I have to remind myself they have entered into a fantastic enviroment that will keep her very busy (she got a job) too. So I try to hold onto that, to ease my sense of longing. At least we have our 16 year old daughter at home still…xx to all of us freshman parents:)
