Any other girls that just LOVE math?

i dont love it but i find it easy because its exact and logical and i like that. but no.. i dont love doing math esp. not calc..not that i find it hard just annoying

i dont like math, but im good at it. does that count? haha.

haha. going to be economics major.

There aren't too many Sherry Gongs out there.

I LOVED math until this year. Calculus is horrible and I really want to blame my teacher because he is just such a jerk. It's like he senses your weakness and then tears you to pieces for it. Luckily, I had an excellent Chem teacher so I found that to be a nice blend of math and science. I loved Chem problems! Wow. I feel like a dork.

I love math. It's so nice and logical...unlike english and literature... Force me to read a book and I'll just fall asleep on you. But with math, I can spend hours solving problems even if I do not always understand them. :D

aw. I love math AND english. =]

so I'm basically a very happy little girl.

but science...yck.

Does it count if I adore arithmetic, but can't stand anything else other than trig and probability? (Give me a break, I'm a creative writing/English major :))

I only like math when I get it right.. :P But that feeling you get when you finally realise how to solve something is truly awesome.

i do and i dont care what anyone else says. math can always be a mood elevator especially when its a really hard problem and you FINALLY get it right!!

So what are you guys interested in doing with math in careers? I'm thinking about being an actuary or like something with chemistry because there is so much math in it.

I want to be a baseball statistician, and work for the Red Sox. I want to be Bill James, essentially (look him up).

I wouldn't particuarly want to do math as a career, but its like my favourite subject, otherwise why would I voluntarily choose to do 12 periods of it a week ;)

Yeahhhh I love math! :D

math makes me long for a slow and painful death.

I love maths! I love the logic behind it, the way it's always precise... Sure, it's frustrating when you can get a problem, but when you find the answer, there's like this rush of adrenaline. Actually, I think I like maths because of the thrill of finding the answer... But I don't think I would make a carreer out of it. I'm more of the science type, so chemistry and biology really interest me.

I <3 physics.
One of our problems from this year:
"Julie (a girl in our class) is acting as a switch in the following circuit. If her resistance is [x] ohms and it takes [y] amperes of current to cause death by electrocution, what is the maximum voltage for the circuit before Julie dies?"

I love math and loved it from the first day that I walked into a 9th grade algebra class (I am almost 70 and we had standard years for standard subjects back then.). My math scores on standardized tests have always been high (careless error) or perfect. Solid geometry in high school and my first encounters with what was then called "modern" math were struggles, but only in the sense that the puzzle wasn't solved quickly - I loved them both and probably remember them as well as anything because of the extra time I spent.

I had a fun career, working with engineers (I loved physics) for years, then transitioning to working in marketing analysis - where I used statistics more than I had when I worked with engineers (although I used some there for quality measurement). Also, along the way, I earned an MBA in Finance and have had a load of fun buying and selling stocks, bonds, and options.

I regret not having taken courses in how to teach math. I have been disgusted at the instruction that my grandchildren have received and would love to have spent the last ten years or so transferring some of my enthusiasm to the younger generation.

I used to hate math in middle school. Then I realized that not all teachers are OCD freaks who make you write your answer three different ways. Now that I'm past all those pointless exercises, I love math! It makes so much more sense than any other subject. I like the feeling of getting an answer, and being sure you're right.

chemistry >> math LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
