After waiting for decisions, along with the rest of you, I can’t get a good read on what my son wants to do. Visit more schools? No, he says. He got into some, not into others. He has good choices, but he doesn’t want to be bothered talking about them. Anyone else going through this?
Any parents going crazy trying to figure out where their child wants to go, since decisions are out?
Yes, DS is making me crazy. I’m ready to write a check. He wants to revisit schools. 8-}
I figured that once decisions were out, we could review the pros and cons of his choices. Maybe he needs some time to himself to think through things.
Yes! I’m trying to play it cool, but am really eager for my son’s decision.
My child went on a 10 day trip overseas without checking all her portals for her results or financial aid awards. I am left hanging until she gets back because she didn’t want to ruin her trip with rejections. I really thought we would have this thing figured out by now. We may still need to visit some schools and May 1 will come quickly.
Yes. Son isn’t saying much one way or another about his options. Usually when faced with big decisions , he goes over pros and cons with us and then mulls it over. He has not visited his top two contenders but is in no hurry to do so.
I am trying to detach myself from it all but reading CC doesn’t help much.
For those of you who need or want a comparison too, here is a good one: http://www.finaid.org/calculators/awardletteradvanced.phtml
Wishing you all the best at this challenging time!
