What are you and your DS or DD doing while you wait for those admissions decision letters to come in late March or early April?

FAFSA and CSS forms. Many scholarship apps are due soon too. Anything else to pass the time and not drive yourself crazy?

Is the anticipation too much for you or your DS or DD? With my DS, I can't tell. Maybe he is hanging all hopes on his top choice school. If that doesn't come through he doesn't seem to know which of his back ups he likes best.

I wish he had a strong feeling about one school vs. another. I am not sure how to help. Additional college visits are probably not an option due to distance from our home of some of his school choices.

I labeled this time as purgatory. He’s done all he can do - all apps & scholarship apps done - so we wait. S is fairly relaxed and so are we. He does not have one top choice but has his favorites. FAFSA is submitted and I have a few things left for the CSS Profile (YUK!!!) We will do no more visits until acceptance(s) roll in. Still waiting. S has been planning a Spring Break trip with friends (and parent chaperones!!)

We’re spending our time with our fingers crossed. Just hoping that the finaid package we receive from Ds current first choice school will be reasonable.

Sending Mid-Year Reports, don’t forget! ;). And yes, trying to get the FAFSA done and scholarship apps. done. Seems like there’s still plenty to fill the “void” of College Apps. stress lol!

My daughter usually seems pretty nonchalant about the waiting, but every once in a while she will allow that she is quite anxious and that even if school’s don’t come through with financial aid (meaning she couldn’t go there), she still cares very much about “being admitted.” I don’t hide my anxiety, but I’m focused more on the financial aid side.

D filled out her section of the mid-year report today (no school due to cold!) I need to re-look at which schools want tax returns, W2’s etc. and get those in.

D is also pretty focused on her dance auditions coming up: three auditions in three weeks. She should hear back from her one EA school by very early March and then it’s just the waiting game.

Has anyone considered cryogenically freezing themselves with a note to be woken April 1?

^Ha! D was supertired last week – slept from 6 pm to 9:30 the next day. I felt like waking her and saying – honey – it’s April – you got into college! Which would have been just fine with her.
