Any possible Rice Clones?

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
I'm actually celebrating tomorrow so I'm using today to get some college app work done (yay) haha

So, I've applied to Rice ED and my plan is to pretend that I have already been rejected so I can really focus on applying to my other schools.
It's insanely tough though because Rice is honestly the only school I can imagine myself attending...no other school meets everything on my college checklist the way Rice does!

My question is - has anyone found any schools that are very similar to Rice in terms of-

student body: an extremely bright group of friendly people who are not cutthroat
location: near a large city
academics: prestigious professors and well-taught courses
size: very intimate, small size (where no one is just a face in the crowd)

And if there are current Rice students here, can you please list other schools you genuinely wanted to attend if you were rejected from Rice

Thanks guys!

How about Wesleyan in Connecticut? It’s just outside of Hartford. It’s very liberal but my daughter who’s applying loved the students there. You could also try Swarthmore which is located right outside of Philadelphia.

Carleton has attracted a number of Rice alumni kids, but it is somewhat different in organization and outlook. Even more personal, probably less or different kinds of performance pressure. Certainly not a clone, exurban Minnesota vs suburban, but almost most downtown Houston. No engineering, music, architecture or graduate schools to diversify the party crowds.

Be sure and take your 2000 iu vitamin D caps.

Pomona, which is part of the Claremont College consortium. There are also many other excellent liberal arts schools that fit your criteria.

Oberlin, Macalaster… what’s your major? Pre-med? Music? both are great at Oberlin.

Oops, I know those two aren’t near large cities. Start by investigating which colleges are near Boston/NY (Sarah Lawrence?)/Chichago/LA. Also look at comparative colleges

Try Swarthmore…I am planning for the ED2 in Swarthmore if I am rejected…
