I was wondering how many of you CCers are diehard Harry Potter fans. When it comes out, we can also talk about the LAST(!!) movie here.

yep i’m obsessed. i’m very sad that it’s ending though. oh well. can’t wait to go to the midnight showing!

Guess who’s seeing the midnight showing?
This girl.

What about you guys?

Oh yep I’m going too! When I watched the UK premiere live on YouTube yesterday I broke down and was crying for about 2 hours after, and during, the trio and JKR’s speech.

I loved her quote, “Whether you come back page by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home”. Saddest thing EVER to happen. EVER.

I refuse to watch the movies, I feel that they poorly done and disrespectful towards the books.

^^yeaaah, I saw that on tumblr haha. i actually want to see it a few days after w/my cousin. and after that i’ll cry a bit then go to the state fair(:

I ordered a Quidditch sweater today to wear to the midnight premier. I’m going to bring my wand along, too. I watched part of the world premier earlier this afternoon on YouTube, didn’t get to finish it unfortunately. SO EXCITED.

I’m going to the midnight premier. I’m sooooo excited for this haha. I was a huge fan of the books before the first movie even came out and my mom surprised me with tickets to the opening day showing.

I feel like this movie is going to be the end of an era for me. I am a true Potter fan through and through (“I see you are Dumbledore’s man through and through” reference ) and am incredibly sad to see this huge part of my childhood come to an end.

On a related note, they are having a Harry Potter Weekend on ABC!

Well, I guess I’m gonna have to be the token muggle in this thread. Never got into Harold Pottar… or whatever…

First of all, everyone is some kind of British. Where are the American wizards, or are we too “classless” to even show up on J.K. Rowling’s radar? Second, what makes this guy Harry so special? His parents got killed by some creep without a nose? That’s probably happened to a sizable portion of the world population. Third, how well would a wand truly stack up against a gun as a weapon, or a drug as a cure, or a cell phone as a source of light and communication? Finally, the movies are boring to sit through. People say Twilight is so much worse, but I fail to see the difference between the two.

If I want fantasy, I’ll watch Lord of the Rings. If I want a cash-cow that’s been drawn out for too long, I’ll watch Star Wars (at least that has Natalie Portman).

^ There are mentions of wizards in various places within the world. The HP series deals primarily with British and other European wizards. For instance, during HP4 there is mention of a Salem Witches Academy, which is obviously a reference to the United States.

Harry is special because he was protected by a special enchantment created by his mother’s love prior to their (his parents) deaths.

A wand would be able to deflect a bullet if a wizard saw it coming straight on. However, if someone got shot point blank I doubt magic would be able to help.

There are healers that deal with ailments in the magical world. Furthermore, Potions is basically the magical version of chemistry. Various drugs are created using chemistry in the real world just as potions is used to create drugs in the magical world.

Wizards use owls for communications. Also, the majority of the HP series takes place in the 90s before cell phones were as common as they are now.

You cannot honestly value the worth of a series based off the movies. The HP book series is far superior to the films.

I love Harry Potter. And I’m going to the midnight premier. And I’m dressing up. It’s going to be awesome.

of course Im a potter head!
It’s the end!!! sheds a tear
But i’m gong to the midnight premier so its all good…

I can’t believe it’s ending! :(

Anyone else care way, way less about the 7th movie than they did about the 7th book?
And btw, Emma Watson>>>>>Natalie Portman

It’s really interesting haha

Take out the middle “ter” out of “Potterheads”.

Heh heh heh.

I’m buying tickets to the midnight premiere in a bit.

I like HP a lot but I’m not the type to religiously follow it. I’m not going to get upset because it’s the last film, it was over for me in 2007 - the films are pretty poor by comparison (and I was in two of them!)

You were in them?! As who?!

Sent from my iPhone using CC

Just an extra in the first two films. I live a few streets away from the studios where they were filmed, producers came to local schools looking for extras and I was lucky enough to be chosen.

^ That’s so awesome haha
