Any Potterheads out there?

Imax 3d is like sex wrapped in Sushi, drizzled with an ounce of “Oh my god.”

3D for me too. We got tickets to the 3D midnight showing in the one with the cinemark XD thing with assigned seating so we don’t have to get there at noon to get a decent seat (although we’ll probably get there early anyways)

Oh and did y’all know that the 3D glasses at the midnight showing are going to look like Harry Potter’s? It’s worth it just for that.

^ I need to change my underwear now.

Watching the Chamber of Secrets on ABC Family right now :D

I gotta say the whole HP series got pretty bad after the first movie.
I remember walking out of the first one back in the day and I was like “Ok, a little out there, but not bad. I don’t think they can pull off another one though”

Then all of a sudden there’s like 8 movies. It’s like *** do people actually enjoy this stuff?? The whole HP franchise is a prime example of a crappy idea that hooked viewers, stretched itself beyond logical entertainment limitations, and reached a point where the operation was run entirely on an obvious opportunity to make profit, with complete disregard to actual creative quality.

J.K.R is mentally dried up and shriveled, her attorneys say she no longer has the energy to even collaborate with the movie directors.

The story is crap. Even the creator and the people behind it stopped giving a **** about 5 books ago. It has always been about the money. I’m sorry, it’s true. Accept it. You are not bad people for liking HP.

Someone’s angry…

While it may be true that the movies (some of them) are kind of bad and the movie is only in 2 parts for money (Come on, there are millions of potter fans, 2 parts= double the money.)

And it may be true that J.K rowling has gone a bit Fame-crazy (see her latest notion of an 8th potter book), the series is still a good one.

Okay, I strongly believe that JKR has NOT gone fame-crazy. Her notion about an 8th book at the HP World Premiere in London was a joke, first of all. She said it because she knew how much she was disappointing her fans who want another book, who want to know what happens to Harry and Ginny, to Ron and Hermione. Fans want to know what Lily, Albus Severus, James, Hugo, Rose and Scorpius’ lives would be like at Hogwarts.

Deathly Hallows HAD to be split up into two movies to give the fans and audience an end to the series that would satisfy them. It seems to me that you have not read the book and do not understand the complexities of their journey. If there was only one movie for the book, the Gringotts scene, the Malfoy Manor scene and countless others would be cut from the script (all of which are of vital importance to the story).

Also, pch340, it seems to me that you also have not read the books. The movies are a mere accessory to the intricate books that JKR has written. There is a deep and complex story that simply cannot be conveyed in movies. I suggest that you read the books and truly understand them before you say that this has all been for money. If you don’t like HP, no one is making you go on the forum.

Sorry for the rant, but I am particularity passionate about these BOOKS.

I, too, am a diehard Potter fan. My friends and I are going to the midnight premier in costume. I will be Minerva, one friend Luna, and the other Moaning Myrtle (not sure on the last one). I’m making wands at the moment.

@ Hatshep

If they really cared that much about staying true to the book, then explain the countless changes made to the past movies such as The ginny-potter kiss scene.

^^ We’re dressing up as deatheaters. Me and my friends actually bought some dark mark temporary tattoos that we’ll be putting on our left forearms

@madogmgd I know that they have made some terrible mistakes in the movies, including the Ginny-Harry kiss scene, as well as many others. In my opinion, OOTP & HBP were indeed butchered for the movies, but it does not take away from the amazing work of JKR. SS, COS, POA, GOF (kind of) & DH1 were amazing adaptations of phenomenal books.

@almost there: That’s an amazing idea, that’ll scare everyone there! I’m making a t-shirt that has the sign of the deathly hallows and then underneath text that says, “Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home” tear. On the back, there will be a lightning bolt scar and “All was well”. flood of tears.

I’m not saying her work is bad, I think Harry Potter is the greatest book I’ve ever read. I’m just pointing out some stuff.

And I have no doubt the creators wanted to flesh out as much of the book into the movie as possible, but you cannot deny the money possibilities also.

A definite fan here!!! The last movie coming out is definitely bitter sweet!!! My whole family loves the books!!! We have gone to the midnight showings and midnight book buying(?) since I was little. We bought a few copies of the last book when it came out so all of us could be reading at the same time  This whole experience has been fun!!! My older brother says he’s bringing tissues to the theater ;)

I’m dressing up as a slutty ron weasly

Someone needs to dress up as a slutty Snape

Lol, only in fandom would either work out. How slutty are we talking? Boxers and, idk… Furry cuffs?

I still need to figure out how to make my death eater mask. Anyone know how?
I’m going for as scary, and as creepy as heck. After all, I am in the Slytherin house. ^_^

Green and Silver, Green and Silver, Green and Silver!!!
