Any Presidential Scholarship Finalists on here?

I'm also from the Bay Area (San Francisco).
I still haven't faxed in that STA form. How much advance notice do they need to buy tickets?

San Josean here!

I would think as soon as possible-- as long as you reserved which session you are attending through the usc website, it should be fine. I bought my ticket two days ago and booked the SuperShuttle.. I'm kind of confused as to how I would find it now, cuz wouldn't there be more than one shuttles at the airport?? It's an extra 15 dollars fee.. I also forgot to ask if it's for round trip. Hopefully I'll receive more info because they're supposed to e-mail me in details.

Wow, STA processes things quickly. I'm planning to fax in my form tomorrow or the day after. Do they assume you'll be flying into LAX, or will they let you fly into another airport?
I'm guessing it's $15 each way for the shuttle, but who knows. You should be able to find it, or you can just ask each SuperShuttle driver where they're going.
You know, after the shuttle and registration fees, the $60 or whatever that USC is reimbursing us for doesn't go that far. Oh well, at least it's something.

anybody who got presidential apply to school of business?

By STA, it is most likely into LAX.

i'm hoping this program will change my perspective on USC. i haven't heard a lot of positive things about it, but i'm keeping my mind open...

a week after this, i'm going to pasadena for all-state choir. awesome! missing school and AP classes (and having to catch up on work).. maybe not so much. bummers.

i got in w/ a biochemistry major... it seems like almost everyone here is a theatre major.

Really? The RD roster doesn't make it seem that way, and the proportion of theatre majors compared to the rest of the university is small. I guess they all just flock to CC.

And wow, biochem! I'm impressed :) What do you want to be?

I haven't ever visited USC, and it was sort of in the middle of my list before. With the possibility of a good scholarship, it's moving up to a higher choice, but it definitely depends on how the visit goes. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about it while worrying about where else I'll get into college...

most likely going for premed and become a doctor... ahh such a reach, especially for a girl.

what kind of questions do you think they'll ask during the interview? just the typical "why-usc" questions? will they throw out any bizarre ones?

i also hope that i have a nice hostess for the night-stay. it'll be kind of weird sharing a dorm with a complete stranger.. strangers. haha

My two college counselor's and one of my teachers are going to do a mock panel interview for me about a week before I go to help me prep! Both counselors have worked on these types of panels...so they will know what questions to ask.

We could probably find an '08 USC student somewhere on this board to ask them about the interview. I'm rather nervous about it, even though I doubt the questions will be anything out of the ordinary.

maybe it'll be like a normal college interview? has anybody had an interview with USC? To think that the interview will be the deciding factor whether one gets the scholarship or not is quite overwhelming.

Well....thats the pressure of real life...job interviews at are huge part of getting a job (this is coming from my dad...who makes a lot of hiring decisions at a hospital.)

i had an interview with USC, just a normal one, at the Annenberg School when I went down there. it was just ur typical college interview, what are ur interests, why USC, and all that. im a little worried about the panel interview tho, any1 heard anything about how this thing works and what questions they ask?

oh, and btw, im from the bay area too, redwood city on the peninsula

I also had an interview with USC, but it was specialized for the School of Theatre, so the questions were a little more atypical.

CubsRule, that's a good point. Even if we don't get the scholarship (knock on wood), at least it's practice for real life!

Snowfaerie, yay for Northern CA!
