andylaws,
Thanks for replying. Just curious, how do they choose who gets to be the single resident? Is it by chance or did they sign up for it?

Single residency costs more, so they would have had to sign up. I know some single residents are in suites (like mine) and others are on the halls- especially the greek dorms.

Hello, I am a white male from Nebraska and I was wondering what sort of financial aid I would be looking at from Pepperdine. I plan on pursuing a business degree.

I can’t say for sure, but I know people with similar stats that got the Dean’s Scholarship, $22k I think, or Regents — $26?

They’ll supplement that with grants if you need more financial aid.

I don’t really think you can go into the application process with dollar signs in your eyes. First worry about where you get accepted, then the money.

So I haven’t really thought about applying to Pepperdine until I got a letter from the Church of Christ that is affiliated with the school. I looked into it and loved the location but on top of that, I love the commitment to Religion. Would I have any shot?

Let me know if i should even apply… thank youuu!

hey i have a question. how do i create a wavenet id? thanks!

hey, do you have any idea why the transfer admission rate is relatively low? Thanks!

I have a B+ and a 28 ACT and 1900 SAT. Taken many honors and three AP’s. EC’s all year, volunteer work, church choir and other church commitments. School is not easy grading school wondering if I should apply?

What is the pre-med program like at Pepperdine? I read on their web site that only 25-30 students apply each year for med school and 0-5 apply for dentistry school. I love pepperdine but my undergrad work is just a stepping stone to get me into med or dentistry school and I DO NOT want to hinder my chances. I just want to know if it is a respected program…

arent some of these stats really high for pepperdine? like they could get into somewhere ranked higher?

can u also chance me? i have a 4.1 w, 3.73 unweighted. 1850 on my SATs. im not gonna submit my ACTs cuz i got a 23…is that bad by the way, not to submit it? i was president of a club for 2 years, first generation. asian indian. live in cali, go to a small public school of 350 in my class.

what are some other schools that are similar to pepperdine? altho its kinda late to change my list lol

also, is pepperdine really as religious as ppl say?

My stats were kinda high for Pepperdine, and I did get into schools that were ranked higher, but I chose to go there because it was the right fit for me, and I’ve never regretted that decision.

Compared to non-religious schools, Pepperdine definitely has strong religious aspects - three mandatory religion classes as part of GEs, weekly “chapel”/convo (through there is a big variety of things to attend), most professors are Christian, some stricter rules. But compared to other Church of Christ schools, like Harding, Pepperdine is pretty liberal.

Basically the religious community is there for those who want it, but it’s not forced on you if you’re not interested.

yes!!!
i have one major question about pepperdine!!

does pepperdine have scholarships offered to international MKs?
also,if my gpa is around 3.6 will i get in?
does pepperdine look at the gpas and sats or the essays more?
thanks!!!

OK HUGE QUESTION!!!
does pepperdine accept rush SAT scores? i know some colleges don’t.
i need to know by tomorrow morning the latest because i REALLY want to go to pepperdine and the only way my scores will get there in time.

also - do you know about USC’s policy with rushed SAT scores?

thanks SO much!

Why don’t you call them and ask directly?

I tried calling both school but because it’s holiday break, no one is in the admissions office. The admissions offices are closed until january 4th.

@aeg5227 - Your SAT score is low for Pepperdine, but I know many people accepted with similar scores. I definitely encourage you to apply, especially since you are Church of Christ. Pepperdine takes that into consideration.

@rajraj - I believe I made my wavenet account when I started the application.

@ginosoprano09 - I’m not sure. I suspect the reason why Pepperdine’s admit rates - freshman and transfer - are so low is a lot of weak applicants and not enough room.

cgm5553- Apply. Pepperdine sounds like a match. It will ride on your essays and recs.
