Hi all,

I want to go to Harvard. I'm a pretty good student, in the top 5% of my class roughly. However, I focus a lot of my time on culturally-related projects and programs. I'm not embarased by the fact that I'm Arab or Muslim. I'm a regular American young woman with a huge dream of tolerance in the world.

I know it may sound romanticized, but that has been my number one passion, before and after September 11th.

My question: How do you think the Harvard admission team might respond to this? Do they favor people like this? I want to be comfortable not only with the academics at Harvard but also the people.

I wouldn't worry too much about that...in fact, I think you'll find a lot of support for your interests at Harvard.

can someone please respond to my post on page 9??

hello - serious question

Hello, I'm a current junior who really wants to go to harvard.

I have a pretty good gpa and SATs. I've also won around 3-5 national awards this year.

I mean, I've heard from friends that it is EXTREMELY HARD to get into Harvard. And I see that from the results of our school.

But, what makes a person stand out? I know that most of times, it's a crapshoot. But, there must be something about the individual the admissions people liked. What do they look for?

Is there even a right path? The fixed direction?

Thank you sincerely for your help.
