We're also considered transfer applicants, so this is the right place for this thread right?

I'm graduating on April with a degree in Broadcast Communication in the Philippines, and now I'm applying at UCI and UCD. Preferred major is Biomedical Engineering: Pre-med.

Did you contact them prior to applying? Do they even allow second bachelors? I know UCLA for example does not take students for a second bachelors- however that might be just for US students. This has to do with overcrowding of the UC system, once you have a bachelor they usually do not take you.

Well I checked the Open/Closed Majors thing for both UCI and UCD, and both tables say my preferred majors are open for second bacc. applicants. For UCD, they have this condition that I should come from a field other than engineering, so that’s covered already. Just to confirm, I also called admission offices of both campuses. :D

it means that this forum doesnt allow reply’s less than 10 characters,
so if you want to post “lol” in response or “yes” you can post “10Char” to complete the 10 character requirement.

I have a question that seemingly none of the UC admissions advisors could really give me a straight answer on (not sure if this should have been made into a separate thread). As a 2nd bachelor applicant does it really matter about the UC General Education requirements. I went to a CSU and put what were the most comparable one ones in the transferrable space. If I just need to produce the general catalog for my old college, that’s fine, but I don’t know if they’re expecting actual community college courses.

It’s hard to get a straight answer from admissions sometimes…I was asking something at UC Irvine and I got, “Engineering does transfers?”

I’m not really sure. I do know some majors/campuses have conditions for second bachelor’s applicants, be complete with pre-requisites and stuff like that. As for the transferable math/english courses, my first bachelor’s is from the Philippines so I just wrote a note letting them know I’m not sure if my courses with transfer, so I put not applicable/not completed on my app. I dunno about CSUs though
