Dear College confidential members, I currently am a student at Queensborough CC and am planing on doing that cctop opportunity program at NYU.

I have no intention of becoming a teacher but figured that the food studies, media cc programs for example may be very interesting.

I also read that some students are allowed to double major in CAS, don't know much about that.

I am not going to kill myself to go to NYU but there is a lot of red tape to get in.

I don't understand why they would need high school transcripts and grades if they don't look at them, as well as all those personal essays and such.

The essay part may be because they can't make up their mind who to choose on grades alone/

My concern is this, not just that I won't be able to get in.

I am a liberal arts major with a 3.4 gpa. What attracts me to NYU is the articulation in which they will take all (up to 72 credits) of your credits generally and that NYU is a Tier-1 school.

A bit about me being a cc student. Unlike most college applicants I never took the sat/act and had just an okay record in HS. So, that means that I don't have the privelege of saying well' Ill apply to NYU, UMivh, UCal BEREKLY, IVY LEAGUE SCHOOLS, Duke UVA,etc.

I could apply yes, and pay hundreds of dollars in admissions fees for all those schools, and it would be far from home in unchartered territory. Worse, would all those prestigious schools take all my credits, doubtful.

Anyways, I have suny schools as possible backups, however I really want to know if anybody was denied a cctop scholarship to NYU as all the red tape seems that you have to have all those community skills, being members of honor societies, phi kappta, etc.
