Any Suggestions?

Hi! I'm a junior in high school currently searching for colleges and I just wanted to know if the community has any schools they suggest I look into.

Black Male
Home State (GA)
4.0 GPA (ranked in Top 2%)
Projected SAT: ~2000 (will take in Jan.)

Fairly Standard ECs & Awards, but they do lack focus: (Debate Captain, Academic Team leadership, Beta Club, Science Olympiad, Honor Societies, 50 volunteer hours this semester, smaller clubs etc.)

Will graduate with 8 Honors Courses & 8 APs (currently taken/completed 8 honors and 4 APs)

I'm looking to major in either Economics or Political Science/Government. Possibly Pre-law
I'm trying to stay East of the Mississippi River (and preferably D.C and South, but that's less of an issue)

My parents say not to worry about financing the education. My dad has a high amount saved based on previous business ventures, and just works independently when he feels like it. We live comfortably below our means and so on and so forth. At the same time I'd probably feel guilty spending upwards of money on a college education.

I'd like the school to not be overly-frat dominated (not something I'm into), and a student body population of about 5,000-10,000, though the latter isn't a major issue. Id also like a contained campus, and not o

Currently I'm looking into:
Georgetown
Emory
American University
Wake Forest

Tulane can be a match
Miami is another match
Duke as a reach

Might as well apply to UGA for a safety. UVA and UNC might be options depending on what your SAT turns out to be.

Check out Tufts. Not in the South, but very good for your chosen fields of interest and well located. There are fraternities though, not sure how big Greek life is.
Same thing for Brandeis.

Davidson, Rice, Vanderbilt, William and Mary.

You could go to Howard for free. I’m also thinking that, given your prospective majors, you should check out Chicago and WashU along with Vandy, Duke, W&M. Brandeis would probably take you and they offer some very good merit to African American students (MLK Scholarship). Tufts is also a good choice. Haverford will want a close look at you, I should think, as would Emory (more money than Midas for what they want), Miami (very good merit), and Tulane (great merit).

Thanks to everyone that’s suggesting schools.

@jkeil911‌ I’ve looked into Howard a few times before , just not sure I want to be at an HBCU

I never thought of Tufts/Brandeis/Haverford
I’ll look into them!

If I can answer any questions for you about Howard, pm me. But do check out these others. I’m connected to Brandeis and Haverford, too, so the pm offer spans those three schools.
