Who would you like to see back from this season - and who do you think they would be high on their list to invite back?
I believe it’s been confirmed that Bruce - the guy that cut his head in the first episode this season and who Jeff immediately offered to him to come back…is on the NEXT season, 45.
I think all of the Tika could be invited back. That’s really it. I’d love to see another heroes vs villains season - the previous one was a fan favorite.
I find that the post-game analysis is much better immediately following the vote–cast is much more honest and feelings are fresher.
This is a MINOR MINOR quibble, but what I do miss from the reunion shows held stateside months later is seeing the contestants cleaned up----some look completely the same while others are almost unrecognizable.
I also heard a podcast where Jeff mentioned that there was a possibility of this after celebration (once they have been cleaned and fattened up!) coming back.
90 minute episodes ahead in the next season - I can’t wait!
I had watched the first episode again to see how they introduced/portrayed each of the final players. Obviously YamYam was a lot heavier. Even Carson and Carolyn were quite a bit heavier. Carson said he gained 30+ lbs prior to going on the show.
They weigh contestants before they arrive on the beach and immediately after being voted off. They always showed the health evaluation in Ponderosa videos.
I really wanted Carson. But am happy that Yam Yam won. How sweet was he when he was helping him with fire making!! I am surprised Carolyn didn’t get any votes.
Somewhat disappointed in the outcome. It just seems like strong players can’t win anymore. YamYam was likable, but did he really DO anything except be carried along? Yes, it was admirable that the Tika Three managed to stay and he may have been on the right side of most votes, but he didn’t really orchestrate any of the big moves.
However, given the final three, he was the best of the bunch. I think Heidi got a bit of a poor edit, but was also not that much of a threat.
I would say there were no big moves this season. The players were basically hand fed the ability to use fake idols, so I’m not impressed with it. Strategically, no one was impressive IMO. And I’d argue that last season there were excellent strategists, but they didn’t win.
I agree with EW writer Dalton that we need less “we all love each other” play and more combativeness. The final tribal is just a bunch of softball questions.
I’m also not a fan of the person who wins final immunity always feeling pressured to make fire and the three losers of the final challenge having the opportunity to wow a jury with fire.
I wonder if we will see some changes in not only format but game okay with the coming of the 90 minute episodes. A little more toughness.
I do think the M.O. of this season though was emotion/emotional play. Sure it lacked the some of the hard play and back stabbing strategy survivor is known for but it was also a season of Tika3 - literally like a mom/dad/child story. I mean Carson held his own and was perhaps was overall one of the best young players to play the game. Carolyn fulfilled the mom role to him and her and Yam Yam were the couple who loved each other but also challenges each other and bickered. Yam Yam was like the dad on the island teaching And consoling Carson through fire.
