ANY TIPS -> HELP SOMEONE OUT!!!

Hey everyone! I am a junior right now and USC is my top school for next year. Do you guys have any tips for applying etc? Anything I should do this summer? should I email my rep a lot?

Also; Anybody have tips for Annenberg? I really want to apply into communications.

ONE MORE THING: What is TECHNICALLY the “easiest” major to get into (for me at least?)…I heard it is easy to transfer into Annenberg once you are actually at USC. I am going to apply to communications as first choice but for second should I do undecided or english or what? ANY help is greatly appreciated.

Stats (very general I have a lot of EC’s tho):
32 ACT (trying for higher – 36 E, 28M, 32 R, 31S)
3.6 GPA (3.4 freshman, 3.6 soph, 3.9 junior - out of 4.0)

Classes for 11th (my school doesn’t offer a lot of AP’s), challenging private school:

  • APUSH
  • Honors english
  • Honors Bio
  • Precalc
  • Span III
  • Broadcast Journalism

Classes for 12th:

  • AP bio
  • Calc
  • AP Psych
  • AP English
  • Seminar (required)
  • Broadcast Journalism

EC’s:

  • Stuco 4 years (prez 4 senior year)
  • senior captain of soccer
  • Varsity soccer and lax
  • Over 200 hours volunteering
  • A lot of broadcast journalism awards
  • Executive producer
  • Making videos for charities
  • Eucharistic Minister
  • Peer leader to middle schoolers since 9th grade
  • Bell choir

As for your chances… I suggest looking thru this valuable thread:

I do not recommend emailing or pestering your admissions rep “a lot” as you suggest. If you ever do need to genuinely communicate with USC Admissions, you can express your interest in and demonstrated commitment to USC… but you do not really need to say it more than once. A big factor will be how your essay(s) and written answers within the Common Application convey that fact… i.e. have you researched USC? Why USC? etc.

I would list a true second major. They can also always admit you “Undeclared” if those two major programs initially pass on you. So, I would not list Undeclared as Option 2.

Good Luck…
