any transfers taking summer?

we should all meet up down there...especially since we are all transfers, all bus. econ majors

and i agree dragon dawg..the manzanita rooms look really big on the site but if you look at the 3-D layout they dont look as big

yeah I think somone mentioned that the picture is very exaggerated and they're not as big as shown. I still hope I get to stay in manzanita though. It seems like the best place for me. Yeah we should meet up down there, I was going to try to plan like a meet up for all sb transfers in this forum to meet up in the fall for lunch or something. I was going to make a thread later on in the summer to see whos interested.

we could even do it during summer for those that are going...you never know how many students will be down there during the summer although i feel that there are probably a good number for a couple of reasons one because people need to make up the units they lost from having too much fun, and two because its santa barbara in the summer....it doesnt get much nicer

anyways though its nice to have people you already know down there especially if we all have the same major which i hear requires a large time committment with all the accounting work

yeah that sounds good, since we'll both be there for session b. Are you going to live in Santa Ynez?

and what are you going to take in session b?

yeah my plan is to do santa ynez for summer, and i still havent decided yet about what do for fall. as far as courses go i'm not to sure because im done with all my pre-req's possibly one more calc class but i tried to match up classes with the ones i have taken through assist.org but im just not sure what goes with what. Im definitely going to that summer planning day on may 16th to figure it all out. what about you?

yeah im kind of in the same situation as you. I'm done with all of my prereq's. So its either that writing course thats required or start my upper division if they let me. Ill be there on may 16th too to figure it all out

yeah i saw that writing for accounting class on assist but im not sure if it was on the summer sessions course offerings

my thing is i want to graduate in two years so whatever i need to take to accomplish that is what ill do as far as classes for summer

yeah the writing course is offered in the summer. Its a requirement, but not a requirement to get into the business econ major. I'm pretty sure you will be done in 2 years, maybe even less. We only need 60 upper division units to graduate, business econ is 40 units, so we need to take another 20 units. Its probably smart to find a minor to fill those units.

yeah no idea what i want to do with those 20 units ...history maybe

so we only need a total of 120 units to graduate? 60 from cc and the other half from UC? i'm majoring in comm and most, or almost all but one of the lower division classes or pre req they don't offer at my cc, but they do at sbcc. So i'm only taking like one class this semester to get to 60. I applied for last winter but didn't get it. I actually took an an accounting course cause my major was bus econ but hated the class, i think i even knew that going in, and i knew i had a tough teacher but schedule wise i took that teacher even though there was another easy one. I would of taken more classes this semester but i heard it somehow might limit the classes you will be able to take at the UC? even though they'll count 70 of your units if you take that many or more? yeah and the 3D image of mazanita looks small

Well, lets see. Is your cc semester or quarter? I'm assuming its semester since you said 60 units. After you finish all of your lower division, GE and pre-req courses, you need a minimum of 60 upper division quarter units to graduate. Some majors require less and some more.

my cc is a semester, wonder how quarters work though, say you have 2 semesters in a year, about 15 weeks each, so that's 30 weeks of school, not including 5-6 week winter and summer sessions. In the quarter you have 3 10 week quarters, which is also 30 weeks, however, you're taking like 3 sessions compared to two of a semester

you multiply 1.5 every semester unit i think....10 semester units=15 quarter units...so if you transfer 60 semester units in the quarter units it is 90.

where is the online form to register for summer sessions?

^^^

UCSB Summer Transitions Program

yeah i printed that off but i thought there was some way to register for summer school online but maybe not

I think the only way to register is either by mail or fax. There is a fax number on the sheet, but I didn't see an online link for registration anywhere. I faxed my form in today.

yeah i just faxed mine in late last night...how long does it take to get the email conformation?

I got the confirmation email a few days after. Its titled " Summer Transfer Registration" by : Doris Oleske , the advisor
