Hi everyone,
I committed to UC Berkeley but then realized that it is possible to SIR to two UC schools (which would be UCLA and Cal) at 12:00, May 2nd. Is there any way I can call the UCLA admissions office and ask if it is still possible to SIR to UCLA? Does anyone know any steps to take or any admission officers I can contact? This is extremely important!
Thank you!
I did not think it was allowed to SIR to 2 UC at the same time, where do you see that?
I’ve read some posts on here that if you SIR to two UC’s, you just get a letter asking you to please choose one about a month later.
Did you change your mind? Or are you still undecided?
I would like to go to UCLA. After visiting Berkeley today, I’m sure I made the wrong decision. Is there anything I can do to try to SIR to UCLA? Has anyone else been in this position?
You cannot SIR to two UC campuses according to UC Website:
You may accept admission to one campus only. You may not transfer your acceptance from one campus to another after you declare your intent to register. A $100 nonrefundable deposit must accompany your acceptance.
Regarding a change from UCB to UCLA, you would have to call UCLA admissions to see if this is possible.
It’s not too late to change. Call UCLA and ask if it’s too late for to SIR there and then send a cancellation to Berkeley. After than you can SIR to UCLA. Every year kids get off wait list and cancel their SIRs all the time.
Awesome! Thanks so much for the advice!
