Anybody attending the Summer Open House

Is anybody thinking of attending the Summer Open House that Williams is hosting on the 23rd? I'm also asking because we're driving from D.C. and I wanted to see if anybody had any suggestions for lodging and/or a specific route to take..

I’ll be going to Williams in the fall, so I won’t be attending the open house, obviously. But I can give you a bit of information regarding lodging; the two hotels I’ve heard the most about are the Williams Inn and The Orchards (both extremely close to campus, if not on it). I’ve stayed at the Orchards before, and it’s a really great hotel (and run by the parent of an Eph!), plus it’s about a three minute drive from the center of campus. I can’t speak for the Williams Inn, as I haven’t stayed there, but I’m fairly certain it’s a high-quality hotel as well, and it’s basically on campus. There are about three or four hotels in North Adams, the neighboring town, if I remember correctly. North Adams is about a ten minute drive from campus. Hoped this helped!

Williams Inn is not a quality hotel–it’s okay and stayable; but nothing compared to the Orchards. Williamstown Motel is a favorite of my parents because it is decent, affordable, and managed by a nice family (same owners as Spice Root, the Indian restaurant in town, from what I heard). Wherever you stay, book the room ASAP–these places all fill up with big Williams events, and that’s excluding the summer tourism right now.

Thank you! (For both of your replies)

Try the Maple Terrace Motel right on Route 2 in Williamstown. Beautiful, clean, and run by a lovely couple.
