Anybody else applying with no EC's?

I’m so nervous about ECs. I just got voted in VP for psych club and secretary for GSA, I do a bit of volunteer work helping children who have difficulty with reading, and I babysit my siblings (two are special needs). I talked to a Berkeley admissions counsellor about this, and all she said was that my ECs are weak. Eugh.

I’m trying to apply for a volunteer position with kids with special needs to get just one more thing in there, but I don’t know if I’ll have the time for this! WHY DOES THIS ALL MATTER? If you have like, a 3.9, do they still care about ECs? :/

I think you’ll be fine. All that really matters is that you’re close to the top of your class. My younger cousin was denied from Berkeley with a 3.85 and more ECs than I could do in my lifetime whereas I transferred in by saying I tutored her and that’s it. Just make sure your statement is good too. Berkeley does weigh it higher than other UCs in my own experience at least. That’s the main reason why I got in.

so how many of you hire people to write your ECs?
