anybody get in from the waitlist?

as chocoholic girl so amazing stated:

"I got in off the waitlist today!!!!!!!! I have to decide if I'm going there by tomorrow though . . . It's gonna be a tough decision"

Yeah I found out today... not sure what to do... I sent in my deposit to Emory but WashU wants a response within 24 hours...

btw, i'm 'undecided' but will prob major in spanish and business... not entirely sure... but i'm looking for a strong liberal arts program, strong business, and strong study abroad/foreign language...

suggestions please!! please PM me .. thanks!

r they still giving decisions?

yeah apparently.. i was just admitted off the waitlist this morning

do they call your permanent phone # or mailing address phone # ?
does anyone know?

Have you actually visited both Emory and WashU? If yes, then you know which one felt better to you. If not, go for WashU unless there's some compelling reason (financial) to choose Emory. WashU has a lot more prestige, a wider-ranging program, a lovely campus, and a more "international" feel. Are you planning on grad/law/med school? Go for Wash U UNLESS you plan to live in the South forever, in which case take Emory. Emory is a fine regional college.

they will still be accepting kids, as many WUSTL enrollees will be getting to other schools that they were waitlisted at...like me.

i visited Emory (and obv deposited there) but have yet to visit WashU... i'm going to check it out ASAP and then decide based on how i feel about WashU...

smartaleck - come to wash u with me! I picked Wash U. over Emory and Vanderbilt.

I just got in off the waitlist and im pumped about it. I am almost 100% sure that im going.

ok choco... lets visit together :)

I'd go with Emory anyday.

"WashU has a lot more prestige, a wider-ranging program, a lovely campus, and a more "international" feel."

--WashU's campus is okay. In my opinion, Emory's campus is a lot prettier than WashU's campus. Emory is like a resort; the place is beautiful.

The area around WashU, University City (I live here) and Clayton, cannot compare to the area around Emory. Emory is located in the picturesque Druid Hills neighborhood.

There are more opportunities in Atlanta. Atlanta has the Capitol Building, the Carter Center, CNN, Centers for Disease Control, and the Yerkes National Primate Research Center. With all of the organizations nearby, student internships are readily available.

I live in Saint Louis, and I will honestly say that you cannot compare St. Louis and Atlanta. Atlanta has better weather (St. Louis weather is crazy), better food (southern cooking), nicer people (Southern hospitality), and a brighter future.

Hope this was helpful

congrats to all who got in off waitlist! have fun if you decide to go there! keep posting if you get in or hear that people have gotten in.

when's the last day they're considering people off the waitlist? like how long should i wait before making a commitment to one of the schools i'm actually accepted to already?

didnt you have to send in a commitment card by may 1st?

yes, but what i meant was: when should i give up on this school and fully committ myself to another? when's the last date theyre considering from the waitlisted applicants?

I believe they will notify all waitlisted students by June 30... some1 correct me if I'm wrong

how will they notify ?

Either by mail or phone

phone call... definitely

even for rejected students?
