Wow, I am surprised you were not admitted in the early rounds. It will be a shocker if you get rejected, because D got admitted with a similar SAT and quite a bit lower rank. What might have made a difference for her is that she put down USC as one of the two schools to be notified of her NM commended status.</p>
<p>My son actually put USC down as his first choice on the NM commended thing, he did go into the "received grades" status in mid-Feb but was a film production applicant, where I think his application stayed until 3/18. And now 3/29 acted on.</p>

<p>Is the 4.0 UW? If so, this has got to be an admit. Grades, SAT's, and class rank all above USC's average. It would be a lot more surprising for someone with stats like this to be rejected, than for the the "acted on = reject" theory to be proven false.</p>
