No news yet here in California.

... i got waitlisted ... i'm pretty bummed out.

i love brandeis. :(

is there any chance of me getting into the accepted pool?

i got accepted today too~~ so happy :)
congrats to all of you who've been accepted as well

i'm so confused, are you talking about ED or RD????

Blue Ribbon App is RD

just got in dudeeeeeess.. BIG blue envelope :)
congrats to everyone that got in.

do they say anything about merit-based scholarships?
they just told me i was ineligible for need-based and they offered a $1000 loan/semester....but I did submit my css.

YOU GUYS HEARD FROM REGULAR DECISION ALREADY? I thought the deadline for application is January 15. Today is February 03. How can they review all the applications in half a month?
It doesnt sound right too me....

I applied to Brandeis too and i thought the result would come out in April like for other colleges....

rd decisions will still come out in apr. these decisions are those of people who applied with the blue ribbon application.

blue ribbon applications are offered to some prospective students (generally seems to be people who showed some interest, but not clear why some get invited to apply blue ribbon and others not) -- provides for a non-binding decision by early feb.

just to further clarify -- those invited to apply blue ribbon can use blue ribbon to apply ed or rd -- the decisions being posted now are those who used blue ribbon for rd.
those who apply rd with regular applicaiton will find out later.

AAAARRGGGGG, i didnt know about this.... Completely don't know anything... How did you get your blue ribbons guys????

Blue Ribbon is invitation only. The "how" is a mystery.

My D. "demonstrated interest" by asking for materials from Brandeis over the summer and scheduling on campus tour & info session in October; but she didn't show up for the campus tour. (rained out) By that time she had decided she was no longer interested in any case and dropped Brandeis from her college list.

Then the Blue Ribbon app came, and it became a matter of "why not?"

Anyway, maybe demonstrating interest early helps. Maybe living in the right zip code helps. Who knows.

i still haven't heard yet
i've rushed home the last two days from school expecting something in the mail--> and nothing!!
grrr
anybody else?

I had shown no interest what so ever towards Brandeis, at least none that I'm aware of. They still sent me a blue ribbon application.

I didn't show any interest either but they sent me a blue ribbon application and i applied. I got Accepted :) and i've heard so many good things about it, now i'm actually considering going there

I feel the same way, collegeohmy. I've been so tense this week waiting for a decision. Brandeis isn't even my first-choice school right now, but I've somehow convinced myself that a 'Deis acceptance is crucial to my future success. (I know it's irrational, but I'm a fairly obsessive person.)

I got my acceptance a few days ago - full scholarship for $45,122.

Wow, congratulations, gukarma. That's great!

i didn't show any interest either. But when I was invited, i asked my guidance about it. He didn't know anything either so he called Brandeis. They said they choose people who have shown interest by any means (which I didn't - thought that was weird, i guess i did maybe maybe) and whom they think fit well in their school (i have no idea how they determine that tho). And also, I think they invite students to use Blue Ribbon only in New England area... or massachusetts . i don't remember. Are any of you guys who used blue ribbon from somewhere other than MA or New England area?
btw, using Blue Ribbon doesn't give you any advantage whatsoever, they said

Well, I live in Houston and got the blue ribbon application, but really that's like the next door neighbor to Boston.
