I was looking on the internet for a science-oriented club, when I came across this sketchy looking website: sciencenhs.org
I emailed the supposed head of the website, and his response was this:
Dear Mr. Hughes,
I am writing you to inquire about the current state of the SNHS. I am a rising sophomore who came across the SNHS while searching for a science-oriented club to start at my school. I planned on starting a chapter during the 2016-2017 school year, however, I am currently questioning as to whether this organization is still active. About a month ago, the website stated that it would release the list of scholarship winners in a week. It had that message for quite a while, and now the article is completely gone, along with all other talks of scholarships. The student opportunities section has been completely stagnant for months. Additionally, on the bottom, it says the site was last updated in October. I am contemplating whether it is worth starting a chapter in my area, or even if this organization is legitimate. Is the SNHS still active, and is it working to improve?
Thank you for writing about our SNHS web site. I find that someone has hacked it and erased large portions of the site some times in the last two weeks.
Repairs are under way even as we speak.
We gave out 30 scholarships worth $1000 each back in May. All of those winners have been notified.
Thank you again for your help.

So has anybody actually heard of them giving scholarships at their school?
