Anybody here decide to attend yet?

Has anybody made their final decision yet? We are waiting for scholarship info...hopefully any day now.

I was accepted but I've decided to go to Oregon State instead

How did you decide? Was it your major?
My daughter also applied to OSU and we are waiting to hear about any scholarships from them as well.
We liked both campuses.

PA Mom
My son most likely will be attending with 5 of his friends. We all went to the Duck Day tour last week and they all loved the school. The school is beautiful and the area is great. It is very different from our location and I think he will enjoy the change.

i think i am going.
i still have to send the form.

i am waiting ot get into the arch program. just another week now.

My daughter has pretty much decided on the U of O. We are still waiting for scholarship info. She did however receive another additional scholarship to the school of journalism.

Go Ducks!

I am most likely going but waiting for scholarship info. I am from CA so the out of state tuition is $19K. Really like the vibe of the school and good social options too.

yeah i agree, jpsandiego. it's so expensive. but totally worth it. and the scholarships certainly help.

scholarship decsions/fin aid comes out in april right? i recieved a dean's scholarship already.

I called the financial aid office yesterday and they said scholarship offers are coming next week.

I guess I can stop looking out the window and then running to the mailbox as soon as I see the mailman drive by then. At least for a few days....LOL
I am really hoping she is closer to the $6000 then the $500, because it is by far my daughter's first choice school. Nerve wracking!

ok thanks!

Scholarship info in Portland today.

wow, how overwhelming, shorty and i will be finding out our arch notifications AND financial aid.

that's overwhelming. but very very exciting!

Two of our three sons graduated from Oregon but our third, a senior this year, has decided to attend University of Washington. His final four were UW, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Oregon and Santa Clara. The more exposure you have to Eugene the less appealing it seems. Luck to all.

i have to visit it first and i'm also waiting to hear back from the architecture school, but it's highly likely that i will end up there regardless of getting into the architecture school or not.

Our son has been accepted at U. of O. and he has visited over 15 schools and U. of O. is still in his top 2. We have been very impressed as well with all aspects of this school. Even his "prestigous" private schools haven't given the attention of this mid-size University. Haven't spoken to one student there who doesn't love this school. We'll see if this is where he ends up!

noseemom: We live in Oregon, too, but have yet to receive speicific scholarship information other than the standard mention in D#2's acceptance that she qualifies for a Dean's. If my memory is correct, 3 years ago D#1 got her Presidential offer letter in March. I am wondering whether U of O sends out different types of scholarship offers at different times. What scholarship did your student receive?

DuckMom, I think they do send out the scholarship info in batches.

DS2 received notice that he was given one of the 25 WUE Scholarships last week. The letter said that he could not add it to his Dean's Scholarship, so he had to choose one or the other. But we still haven't gotten any specific dollar amount for the Dean's Scholarship -- which makes it real hard to decide. LOL

Congrats on the WUE! D#2 received a WUE to attend WWU and she was very tempted, but is sticking with Oregon. The WUE was to shave off about $9,000a year off the OOS tuition to WWU. So, if they work the same, the WUE to Oregon is the biggest scholarship available to an OOS student and will be worth a lot more than the Dean's Scholarship. Don't blame you for waiting to see how much the Dean's will be, however. Good luck!
