Anybody play varsity basketball?

<p>Is basketball big where you live? </p>

<p>Here in Texas it definitely plays second fiddle to football but I was curious how it was viewed in other places?</p>

<p>because its an easy sport that a lot of smart people choose to do…practices dont last very long, and its just running. tryouts for varsity basketball are on tuesday for me…</p>

<p>In terms of crowd turnout, basketball is best. Our swimming team has a much better record though, and they’re known for being the “intense” athletes.</p>

<p>Yep, made the varsity bsketball team last year. It’s kind of big in my school, we do recruit players, so our record is usually decent.</p>

<p>It’s not an easy sport, it’s just that it doesn’t require a certain build or height, and coaches tend not to cut people as much as those in football, basketball, etc.</p>

<p>Well, would you willingly run for miles and miles every day for fun? Cross country is essentially every other sports’ athletes’ punishment, taken to ridiculous levels.</p>

<p>Basketball is REALLY popular at my school. (Our football team sucks, it’s getting a little bit better though. There’s support for a couple other sports like soccer and lacrosse, but Basketball is the most popular)</p>
