Or have you all procrastinated like me and just opened up the course manual lol?

I wish I had my AP scores so I could have a more clear idea of what classes I can and cannot take.

Also, how many of you 09ers are planning to retake general biology and general chem even if you have 4s or 5s on the AP test? I'm probably going pre-med, and a lot people suggest doing it just as a review and for an easier courseload.

I really don't feel like restudying the information I, theoretically, know, but having an easier courseload does sound appealing...

dude skip the general chem if u can man, ur paying $45000 a year there to learn, not to get a stupid A that will be absolutely meaningless 10 years down the road.

im kinda confused about one thing, anyone know wat's the deal with the labs that go along with the courses? is it mandatory? do they have to be taken in the same semester? do i have to take lets say the Physics lab if im taking the physics course? im taking organic chem next semester but all the lab sections are full, is it ok that i take the lab next semester?

yeaa i have the same question...i'm taking orgo I but all the labs are full...i'm hoping they end up making one more section or something

i also have a question about physics...i got placed out of physics I but i have to take physics II...so i'll be getting my 4 physics I credits, and w/ physics II and lab...my 5 physics II credits...but i need 10 physics credits for my major (BME)....so could I just take physics I lab with out the physics I course so I can fulfill the 10 credits?

haha wow nice we're in the same booat with physics too, but i didn't know about the physics credit requirement thing for BME, where did u get that info?

if you guys haven't signed up for classes yet and want to know about your AP credits now, you can call in my phone and get them. The number is 1-888-308-0013. The only thing is that it costs 8 bucks to get them now. I suggest signing up for classes now though - almost all of my french sections I wanted were already full, and I woke up at 4am (pacific time) to sign up.

Yea, I registered around 6:30am Chicago time and the Spanish section I wanted was already full, so I had to take a 9 o'clock class. Uff. I'm not much of a morning person, lol.

I registered at 4:07 (7:07 eastern), just 7 minutes after registration began. One Contemporary International Politics section was full and 2 Global Economics sections were full.

I am totally confused...wen u register for a course do u have to seprately register for its lab or is it understood that the lab goes alongwith the course. I had another question, i got a 5 in AP chem and i plan to get the credit for it so which course should i choose. Should i go in for organic chem or something else? (i am not pre-med)

I have the same problem with physics, if i plan to skip phy IAND II then which course should i take?

jm_87, I'm pretty sure that you have to register for a lab seperatley because even though it may be connected to one course, it is still listed as another course with a different course number.

Hey all. I cant help with answering your specific questions, but I wanted to tell you that you should contact academic advising at Hopkins. They have always been helpful with me when I register for classes and am confused about sections, labs, etc.

If you are Arts & Sciences, you can call them at 410-516-8216 or e-mail at advising@jhu.edu. If Engineering the number is 410-516-7395 or e-mail wseadvising@jhu.edu. Use the advisers, that is what they are there for.

Also, I often will use the ACE Guide (I think the Registrar puts it out) to help me choose classes because it says what previous students thought of the classes.

I Tried to access the ACE guide but it says access denied. Is there anything you have to do before you can view the ACE guide? Secondly what happens when you are put on a waitlist for a particular course during registation?

You have to be on the Hopkins network to access the ACE Guide and the only way to do so is to use VPN. Login to JHED (jhed.jhu.edu) and look for instructions on downloading and installing the VPN client.
