Anybody watch Syriana?

I saw it today. The movie rocks. Highly recommend it.

man i so want to see it.......................i jut want to ****ing punch the face of the guy that says"corruption is why we ween(win)"

I want to see it, too.

I just got back from seeing it - good movie. Makes you think.

I was actually suprised how good this movie was. Reccomend for everyone to watch.

This movie deserves and Oscar.

I thought it was awesome...finally a complex, cerebral, mass-market movie.

i loved this movie.

have been wondering about the meaning/relevance of the title though...

good movie

The closest thing I could find hastily was this from wikipedia:

[quote]
In study of the international relations of the Middle East, Syriana is used both to refer to Syria (as in Pax Syriana), and in other contexts as an arbitrary label for hypothetical countries with varying degrees of resemblance to Syria.

^ good job, feenotype. thats pretty sweet.

Good movie, but not as good as "Good Night and Good Luck" both aesthetically and in terms of theme. I enjoyed Matt Damon's story segment, but George Clooney's part of the story was a bit too scattered and overly implicit.

ah thats another one I want to see. Guess I'll have to wait for the dvd version now.

I'm never going to see a Disney movie again.

It was definitiely good - I also liked Matt Damon's part.

The definition posted by feenotype is wrong...Syriana refers to a strategy employed by the U.S. in reshaping countries or bending them to their will...Iraq would be an example of syriana.

They never mentioned the country of syria once in the movie which was weird. I thought the movie was great. Did anyone pick this up. Remember the ending where they drive the boat into the big ship. Do you know why that happened on that specific day. My thought was because the other bombing of the prince would not get any attention by the media. The bombing of the ship would be the only news. It was done for that reason. I don't know if that was the point of having both occur on the same day but that is what I believe.

"They never mentioned the country of syria once in the movie which was weird."

Did you not read my post right above yours?

And I don't think the bombing of the ship was to "erase" the news of the prince being killed...there's more than enough space for both stories to be reported...

Where did you get that definition. Syriana just refers to the region of the middle east. Its not what you said. WHere did you come up with that.

Why don't you try finding it for yourself?
