I'm not sure giggitus.
My status went straight from "due to an unprecendented number of applications blah blah blah working on rendering a decision as quickly as possible" to a notification of acceptance.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, some people I have talked to got a response in a week (like me) and other people took like a month.

Did you send in the priority app or the common app?

mp153, I used the priority app and only sent in the required counselor form and just recently got accepted. so i would think you have nothing to worry about! unless you think the extra teacher recs will help you out...they definitely are not neccessary.

No, no! I was accepted with the priority app! I wasn't worrying, I was helping to calm the person that was :) haha.

And my status did the exact same thing as 2legit2quit's (btw, I LOVE your user name haha).

And yeah, my response, after receiving all of my stuff (my essay didn't send and I had to resend right before the deadline for priority app), my decision took a week and a halfish?

when do you think i will hear?
i sent my common app online exactly 2 weeks ago and mailed my recs 2-3 days before that. i sent my SAT sometime that week.

S just heard last night via online with SS# that he is accepted with letter to follow of special invitations for admitted students? Hopefully he will get honors with a scholarship but he felt good about it and is interested in school. He just sent transcript and counselor rec. He waited a few weeks with "unprecedented message. Stats 33 ACT, 2130 SAT's 3.7 GPA in rigorous courseload.

I AM IIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.
i actually can not believe it. i think i am in shock; this has not sunken in.

I found out I got in (as a transfer) a few days ago (which is realllllly exciting!). I would be transferring to go to the architecture school (UNC doesn't have one), so by no means will I definitely be going, but I wanted to keep architecture as an option, though I'm also okay with waiting to pursue it until grad school.

but.. what I'm confused about is that I didn't get any scholarship at all. nada. which normally I would understand, as the applicant pool is fantastic and I'm sure there are more deserving people, but it's the explanation that gets me.

The counselor said that transfer students typically have a 3.5 gpa and have taken core curriculum, including foreign language and math.

I have a 3.48 gpa at a difficult school. I took Hebrew freshman year, and I haven't taken math because I placed out of it at Carolina because of the SATs, SAT IIs, and APs that I took in high school.

Is there really such a strict cutoff for gpa? Should I not be surprised?
hmm. I'm considering contacting the office this week, but I don't want to sound conceited or self-righteous or whatever. But I'm also concerned that maybe the very short application didn't give all the information.

Apparently Tuland does have scholarships specifically for transfer students- so it is definitely worth a call to see if you are in contention. Best is to check to see if it requires a separate application. Good luck.

eri196, your post is my exact situation (except no ivies, but some toughies)
however, I know nothing about the biology program so I don't know how seriously to consider it.

I have had this message for a week when checking with my SS# online: The Committee on Admission is working to render your decision as quickly as possible.

Before that I had the unprecedented not review yet bla bla bla message for about a week

At the stage I am at, the rendering decision msg, how much longer until I find out if I have had that message for a little over a week and sent everything in in like beginning of Oct and my counselor sent out transcrip and recs last week of Oct

daughter just got in this morning!!!!!!!!!!
took a long time, as her hs transcript was missing, even though everything was recorded as complete. had everything faxed to them on monday, heard this morning!

I was so excited I accidentally ripped my letter when I opened it lol. I got the 24K Presidential scholarship and was accepted into the honors program.
