We know that several acceptance letters have gone out. Have any rejection letters gone out? Deferrals?

Do all the EA applicants get notified of acceptance before any of the regular decision applicants?

I got in!!! So they really are sending out admission notifications to applicants early. Has anyone received any info. on the Honors College and Scholarships?

Congrats, armaryland17!

how did you hear? did you apply EA? honors?

ds applied Nov 1 and hs transcript, rec’s sent in October. but took about 2-2 1/2 weeks or so to match up forms with his app.

maybe there’ll be more good news…good luck to all!

I applied EA (on the last day–> Nov. 1st). I also applied to the Honors Program + scholarships (DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN THESE ARE COMING OUT?).

Though, the website still says I have turned in my Transcript… I’m guessing they do have that b/c they accepted me.

Admission notice came in mail, we haven’t checked the online status. Speaking of online, did anyone have trouble this year with payments for application fees? My d paid all fees online, even if paper applications were sent in, and several colleges have mailed saying they have not gotten the fee yet, even though it went through on the credit card. Odd. Also, Mason has not given any info about scholarships to EA applicants as far as I’ve heard.

I live in the Midwest, and I haven’t heard anything yet. Is there anyone from the Indiana or Illinois area that has gotten anything? I’m only concerned because I applied way back in August, so I figured that I would be notified in the first wave of letters.

I’m starting to think that the only notifications going out are to those that are accepted. Those that are rejected or deferred will be notified around the deadline. This is only speculation on my part, but this appears to be the pattern.

That may be true. I have the double anxiety of living in an area that usually lags behind on the mail. Even my state university acceptance letter (IU) took a week longer to get here than it did for my friends in other parts of the state (yay rural areas!). I just wanted to check if there was anyone else out of state still waiting (that’s not on the east coast).

Actually Riggo, Dean Flagel stated that isn’t the case. People are being notified earlier, but it doesn’t mean those who haven’t heard yet are deferred or rejected, he said not hearing doesn’t mean anything. From where I copied his response above: “Those applications that were first completed will get reviewed sooner, but most take longer. As a result, some applications will get reviewed sooner than others, having nothing to do with whether or not the students are qualified.”

So don’t worry, I hope you, Layla17, and mistymom’s son receive good news soon. And even if you applied very early, it doesn’t mean all that were received quite a bit prior to Nov. 1 will be reviewed early…just some apps.

thanks, 3321 for the good words.

we’ll keep our fingers crossed and on the lookout. we’re instate and costs make a difference.

GL to everyone and speedy news to all!

Thanks 3321!

Good luck to everyone. Hopefully the torturous waiting is over soon.

for those of you who got accepted. what was your GPA and SAT score just to compare…

I stumbled upon this thread earlier:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/george-mason-university/604555-anyone-else-get-desicion.html

It’s a thread about the same question we all have, but from last year. It seems that everyone was getting decisions at different times, a couple of them getting acceptance letters all the way up to the deadline. I suppose we don’t have to worry just yet.

Thank you, Layla.

3.8 gpa sat scores for all three were around 1750

Has anyone heard of anyone receiving a rejection or deferral letter? Are there others still waiting?

I’m from PA and I’m still waiting…they said that they would mail letters out tomorrow.

Ugh. That means next week. I haven’t heard anything either, but I’m glad to know I’m not alone.

Here is the latest from the Dean of Admissions:

“On the positive side we received more early action applications from more qualified students than ever before. On the downside, that means trying to get a lot more admission packages out this week than we anticipated. We began printing and mailing early action letters yesterday most will be in the mail today and all by Friday. I have the elves working as fast they can, but they have an awfully tough union. Hang in there you will definitely hear from us in the next few days.”
