anyone accepted yet?

Thanks Riggo.

Thank you!

thanks for posting that from the Dean. Was that from a email to him or is there a featured discussion or post that the Dean responds to?

I received e-mail just now! I’m international student, and yeah, it is acceptance!

The quote is from his Admissions Blog - Not Your Average Admissions Blog.

On a different matter, it appears that maybe International Students are being notified by email because of mail delays, but I see no indication that US students are being notified by email. Congratulations on your acceptance.

Perhaps the worst snowstorm to hit the DC area in over 100 years will hit Saturday. Those admission packets that were to be mailed Friday will likely sit in the USPS for days. Airline traffic throughout the nation will be affected. Hurry up and wait!

Hello, Im an out of state (Illinois) EA applicant, and have yet to receive any notifiation email or otherwise. Riggo - your theory on the snow storm delays makes sense to me. is this conformed? does george mason not post their decisions online or via email? also, as anyone else from Illinois or even the Midwest received notification?

Riggo, when do you think RD applicants will be hearing back?

I think RD applicants will hear the first week in April. Here is the latest on the snowstorm that will set back airline traffic and mail delivery for days:

All campuses will be closed on Saturday, 12/19. Final exams are delayed until Monday, 12/21 (weather permitting). Exams on Monday, 12/21 will be given at the time and place originally scheduled on 12/19. Students should check their e-mail frequently and follow any specific instructions sent by professors.

Law school students are advised to call the Law School main line at (703) 993-8000 for their opening and closing status.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

University Administration

trekkie711, I’m from Indiana and an EA applicant. I have not heard anything yet, and I haven’t talked to anyone in the Midwest who has.

wow, that’s really late, i guess i should have done EA after all.

Im from new hampshire though, and i got my decision the day after thanksgiving, but i also sent my app a month early, so i dont know if that makes any difference :/?

I’m sure that was a contributing factor, as they do the applications in order of submission.

Hi. Been reading all of the posts in this thread and it’s still a little murky to me. My son applied before the Nov. 1 early action deadline (his materials were all received by October 15) and we anticipated being able to check his app status online after December 18 (the posted EA notification deadline) to see his status. We see nothing. From I’m reading, it appears as if applicants are to receive their decisions by mail before seeing them online, and EA applicants (particularly out-of-state ones) MAY be getting their decisions SOMETIME SOON after December 18. Does anyone know or believe this to be a valid assumption? Thanks for anyone’s clarification or help.

We’re from Illinois as well (early action) and have yet to hear anything.

A number of factors can delay the Nov. 18th deadline. Such as Increased applicant pool and the weather in the DC area. If you look at the thread from last year it shows most of the students received their letter in the mail the week after the deadline. So you should expect to receive your letter this week.

I’m assuming the website will also be updated this week.

i got my acceptance in the mail yesterday so i’m guessing you guys/girls should hear soon! then again i live in northern virginia, about twenty minutes away from mason

ohhvee, you got mail yesterday? Lucky you. Our mailman didn’t make it into our neighborhood. Federal government is closed tomorrow in the DC area, and I don’t know how that will impact the mail delivery in this area.

It’s probably safe to say they have all been mailed at this point and the delay is simply from USPS (and the storm)

got in today!
(the envelope is HUGE, by the way).

OOS, from public school in PA.

journalism major. :)

i’m probably not going, but i loved the campus when i saw it.

oh, and my acceptance letter had the date of dec. 16th on it, and it didn’t get here until the 21st, today. so i’m guessing that the predictions about the snow storms are correct… i’ve been waiting for this letter.

good luck to all of you!!!
