Anyone Applying Early

I got in Oberlin ED, but I only found out through email because I live in Montreal and am in Pittsburgh for the holidays. I hope the envelope is waiting for me when I get back! Is there anything really important in it I should call them about? Like a housing survey that needs to be filled out right away?

Congrats! At this point, they only ask for a $300 deposit and request that you fill out an administrative form with family data.

Is anyone else applying under EDII?
My application is in for EDII, and yesterday my admissions rep called and asked if I could elaborate more on a part of my essay that discussed a dip in my grades one school year. I am delighted to have the opportunity to do so, but at the same time am a bit scared that my dubious transcript will guarantee that I wont be accepted.
Is it at least a good sign that they're wanting to learn more about it?

I think it's a great sign. I'm no expert, but it probably means that they want you in but not 100% sure because of that year's lacking grades. Take full advantage of this opportunity and you're in.

Ah, I got in and am so stoked!

that's awesome, congrats!! if you don't mind me being too nosy, what were your grades like? i'm a junior now, but obie's definately my first choice for next year and i'm trying to collect all the info i can!!

I had a 5.0 during my junior and senior year (because I did a pseo where I only took college courses for an associate degree), but because my grades dropped during the 10th grade (to a 2.0!) My overall gpa is only a 3.7w and 3.4uw. My test scores weren't too impressive neither (act:27). So yeah, I am super surprised I got in. I had pretty good recs, essays, and ecs, though.

I applied EDII and still haven't heard yet. How have people found out? Is it only by email or is there an envelope too?

I applied EDII as well and haven't received a reply yet...

I wouldn't worry about it. You aren't technically supposed to receive notice until tomorrow. And some people after that.
