My S has just applied ED1. Very excited. Any CC-ers out there who now have fingers crossed for Pomona?

I did! Very excited, too. And nervous. Mostly nervous. :)

We visited a dozen schools last year and S said he did not plan to apply ED anywhere. Then he saw Pomona! What a discovery.

Don’t be too nervous! I know if you love Pomona enough to apply early, you must feel a strong affinity for the college, and that will shine through in your application!

Good luck, Numfar!

i did had a few problems with the app, arts supplement confusion. been to the post office three times in the last three days… but i’m glad I’m done now :)

Congratulations, Tamtastic! That application sounds like a labor of love. I’ll be keeping fingers crossed for you, too!

Thanks, earlybird! Good luck to your son, too! :)

I did! Mixed feelings of thrill and intense anxiety. Good luck all :)

I did super super super nervous because my test scores are super low. and when I say low I don’t mean low like 2100 i mean low like… sub 2000. fingers crossed! good luck everyone :D

I hear that the College is quite holistic in their approach to each candidate, sarsoccersar, so I will be hoping for the best for you.

And unenlightened, too!

Has anyone received an e-confirmation from the admissions office saying their app was received? A little concerned about S hearing nothing days after the deadline has passed.

D applied ED1 and has not received confirmation. It took them almost a week to acknowledge her preliminary app, even though she brought it in during her interview.

Good luck to all! Chirp!

Thanks, otisp. That’s very reassuring.

I think aspiring Sagehens are chirping all over the country and beyond! Hope the admissions office can hear them. :)

Just had my interview.
It went pretty well, and it made me really, really want to go to Pomona.
38 days left and I’m nervous already.
Best of luck to all of us!

No confirmation either. Should I be calling into the office to check??

Congratulations on the interview, boomboomkrn! 38 days! Not so very long at all!

unenlightened, I checked last year’s ED thread, and it appears that applicants received e-mails confirming receipt of materials on Nov. 18. So, the admissions office is probably still downloading files. Nothing to worry about at this stage, I would think.

That said, I’m sure the office would be happy to field any queries.

Haha, okay. I’ll wait it out then. Wouldn’t want to annoy the people reading my application! Thanks for letting us know.

Early Decision 1 too! 34 days left. :)

Good luck everyone! Hope we all get in and then can get to know each other months before we even move in. :)

i honestly have animosity towards the admissions office at pomona. okay… maybe just its secretary. she has hung up on me a good three times after telling me she can’t hear me. if anyone calls the admissions office, be sure to ask for an actual admissions officer, and call after 1 because that’s when they are available.

don’t take it personally, tamtastic. my S has been hung up on by this admin as well. it didn’t seem to be a hearing issue in our case. she seemed not to comprehend his question at first, then grew quite addled and impatient, then hung up. (conversation was on speakerphone, so i could hear!) we were very disconcerted, so i’m glad to hear your recommendation of asking to speak to admissions reps directly. thanks for suggesting.

i wonder whether pomona knows this is occurring???

has anyone else had an experience like this?

Same thing happened to me. :(
