Anyone applying to RUE?

Nothing here last week . Did someone get any news?

Yes my friend got in to RUE.

When did he receive the notification? Last week?

Monday or Saturday, priority mail.

I'll just wait for the confirmation of what i already know- rejection.. problably not by priority mail :) . I hope that it doesn't take so long. It's a torture to wait for a letter with a little bit of hope, very very small, but stilllll

Accepted. got mail today

congrats papatango!

...you had painted a bleak picture, but i'm sure you're glad you were wrong.

so did you get in without an interview?

Rejected . Have to choose between UC Berkley, Tufts, JHU and Columbia. IR Major ..Problably Tufts.
JHU is out bc location. I have 2 children, Baltimore is, well , not so nice.
UC Berkley- a lot of people say teachers are very politically biased. I'm kind of free market, small government guy.
Columbia i will do some research on it's IR/economic development program, if they have one, not so sure

Someone have any clue, why i was rejected?

Opinions Welcome

editing last post

were you read last semester, it was 13 years ago

I was rejected by rue. Though I had straight A's and published a poem. I

cannot believe I was rejected. I am applying to washington university

and Northwestern. They will recognize my accomplishments. It is

disappointing but I do know brown took only six applicants. Mostly

brown employees and international students. Think about it

100 applicants times 70 dollars is 7000 dollars for brown. It is a insider

program. I am a outsider. Though I know I will be accepted to another prestigous

university as well in the mid-west.

Sorry to hear about those who were not accepted. Best of luck - there are lot of great schools to apply to.

Where did the figures of 6 accepted and 100 applicants come from?

goldcoast. I think you teory is wrong. First of all 7000 dollars for Brown don't make any difference, and in the RUE process of admission it's likely that they spent some money.
Second, I'm an International student, 31 years old, from Brazil, very sucesful professionaly, didn't ask for Financial Aid and was rejected, on the other hand kdanieli's friend from NY was accepted. The mostly international theory doesn't confirm.
Problably was just a question of space. I don't know. I'll pass by Brown sometime during the summer and talk with them. I'll be attending Tufts or Columbia next semester, and if their IR and latin american programs don't meet my expectations I'll reaply to Brown. But if i choose Tufts i doubt they IR program will not meet my expectations, so, maybe i'll need to go to Brown in my next life. :) .

Sorry, but what do you consider an outsider?

PAPATANGO, so you were actually admitted without an interview??

To any and all that have been rejected from Brown? Were you rejected due to the lack of need blind admissions? PM me.
