Anyone applying to the Wesleyan Freeman Scholarship?

oh no so the freemans are not coming to singapore? what's gonna happen to the applicants in those countries where the freemans will not be going then? i was looking forward to meeting them and the other freeman applicants from my country at the reception (i suppose there will still be one?)... coz i don't know of any other singaporean applying... which i suppose isn't really a bad thing.

@dinosaurrawr: i guess you'll have to fly back to Korea. Actually, a lot of Freeman finalists and scholars used to study abroad: UK, USA...

@woebegone: as I said before, you guys will be interviewed by Teri Overton and Theresa Cann (They did the interview last year in Vietnam). There are always 2 groups of interviewers.

dinosaurrawr: I'm living in Romania, Malaysian citizen. If I ever make the finalist cut, I guess I'll have to fly back, with all the money put into it. Lots of money. Not to mention I might miss the CEESA basketball tournament. :( Oh, well, the breaks for us. :D

Ahhhh. I'm so scared now.

No Freeman family for Malaysia too? :(

It is sometimes possible to make arrangements to be interviewed in another country. Makes it more difficult for the final decision to be made though, so use only if really necessary.

With regard to a question sometime back, it is not an absolute rule that you must have A-levels or STPM before being admitted. I know of at least one who got in after just a year of A-levels. Just send in applications. Let them sort out the details. Sorry, this came rather a little late.

Me: Malaysian Freeman from last year, freezing alone in my room over the winter break, happy to answer questions.

enilit: yep, i am :)

When do they inform you that you're a finalist?

probably around this week, or next week.
bookgirl06: from the Philippines here, too ;) what high school do you go to?

lol,
so it is possible to do interview in the u.s.
welllll--- but why is it so difficult to arrange an interview in another country? odd.

oh by the way--
GOOD LUCK, EVERYONE!

phew,
my tummy is rumbling.

Well, the interviews are conducted by two groups of people (Mr. and Mrs. Freeman, and John Driscoll, or Therese Overton and Alice Hadler), so they have to plan out a country by country itinerary.

Hey everyone, my friend got the interview notification already. Bad news is, I don't see anything. Wondering if this is my first rejection...
Anyway, good luck everyone! Time to try out our nerves:D

did she receive the notification via email or letter or phonecall from Wesleyan itself or through the AIG branch?

haven't heard anything yet, too...
i'm just hoping that the vietnam people get their notifications earlier than the rest of us do...

Bad news is, I haven't even seen her. She came looking 4 me but I wasn't there. But the Freeman scholars in previous years say that it will come in regular (snail) mail.

one of the Freeman scholars '08 (from the philippines) was notified through a phone call, though..

miaoling, who was it?? o_O

sis Ly or bro Toan, I can't remember>_< Could have been someone else for all I know:D

Sigh. My friend got a call yesterday from AIG telling him he'd been shortlisted. Darn. So much for Wes. The fantasy was fun while it lasted.

Let's all hope they're still calling everybody.

BG, that doesn't necessarily mean you're out of the running. I hope they're calling you as I write this:) How many Filipinos are applying this year?
