andrelza: exactly. ;) which isn't really critical thinking, eh?

anyone wanna post stats?
r u all applying from ur Native Countries?

I'm not applying from my native country so if I become a finalist, it's going to be expensive flyin' back to Asia for the interview. Might even be the same time as the basketball tournament. :(

As for stats, I'm sure most of ppl's stats are floating around in their past posts. I think the Freeman Scholarship looks a lot past stats, too, into personality and whatnot.

well izzy for that matter i think most top american colleges look past stats into personality and character and potential.

and sure, let's post some more stats. lol. you go first.

Hey, vivo, where are you from?

brazil. korea

brazil korean... that sounds as cool as romania malaysian... :)

Heh. Thanks, woebegone. Credit goes to my dad for that move. :)

Sweet. I just got the email from Ms. Carolyn Shaw confirming my app was received with everything in it.

I've never entered a contest in my life. (Besides inter-school sports tournaments.) So I've never had the mindset of "quarter-finalist, semi-finalist and finalist".

I suppose by the time late Feb rolls over, those who didn't get contacted about interviews will know it's "Strike one" in the ballgame of college apps.

sigh Do you guys think they should send emails to EVERYBODY telling them whether or not they're a finalist or unfortunately not a finalist and so is rejected? Or better to be non-contact with non-finalists until the doomsday of April?

eh i think i read somewhere that those who do not get shortlisted only get the rejection letter when the regular decisions come out...

Which would be useless since we'd know we weren't asked for an interview way back in Feb.. sigh Crapo.

sighs along with Izzy

andrewlza: are you on Recom.org as well?

Btw, should we redirect this thread to here instead? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=119542

Else we would be having two threads regarding the same issue...

In the meantime, I just wanna remind you that the interviews are in March. Straight from the horse's mouth, um, I mean, Mr Overton told me:D

Dean Overton...isn't Dean Overton a woman? Teri Overton? And I thought the interviews were late Feb/early March...But I'll try to use the other thread like enilit sugggested.

mannnnnnnn let's pray I didn't say "Mr" Overton somewhere in the app. It could either be a laugh or homicide. Anyway, Dean Overton said in the email that the interviews would be on March 8 and 9.

haha... anw i think the interview dates vary from countries to countries, since the freeman family is going to interview the finalists from each country personally (rite?), they can't possibly be at different places at the same time? that's y interviews are said to be conducted from late feb to early march?

oh yeah, shoulda accounted for that. in that case, the dates are for Vietnam. sounds like we're the last to be interviewed, that is, if I could make it to the finals at all.
just a quick check: what other schools are y'all applying to?

hi. i'm Ly from Vietnam, '09. Uhm, interview in Vietnam: March : confirmed :D The Freemans and John Driscoli (or the Driscolis) will interview 6 countries/territories this year including: Thailand, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, China (Beijing and Shanghai). Sorry I don't remember the last 2. I think Taiwan and Hokong but I'm not sure. The rest: Teri and Theresa???

Good luck to you all :) and Happy New Year

i am korean, living in the u.s.
eh, the admin officer told me to apply for the program..
but we both don't know how i will be interviewed!

gluckkkkk kidddddos!!! :D
