Is anyone applying here? I have some questions and i feel so alone!

Have you done an overnight at St. John's? My son goes to Annapolis and loves it. If I could go back to college and do it again I'd go there in a heartbeat. Good luck.

really! No, i can't really afford it. I'd really love to go..but i'm kind of put off by the fact that all the money spent on AP tests were wasted =(

Ha... I really almost applied, but all the essays seemed far too daunting. I like SJC's concept though... I think it is a great basis for life.

What are some of the essay topics?

Hello,
I'm a student at St. John's.
The essays shouldn't stop you from applying if you think it's a good fit. If it is a good fit that will come through in your essays.

The topics when I applied were:

Why St. John's?
Write about a book and talk about one important aspect of it.
Write about an exceptional educational experience.
And then they let you write on whatever else you want. The essays have to in total be about 10 pages though most people write much more then that.

the essays were actually really fun...and i think you can recycle a bunch of them- i could, anyway...i wrote about a particular book and experience for common app so i changed them to make them flow well together and used those. mine ended up at 14 pages..worst part: my printer ran out of black ink. so my essays are in blue, green and a sort of dark grey. joy!
