I'm really confused about this. Do I attach it in the additional section of the common app? Or do I put it where the optional essay is? Or do I do both an essay and a resume? Ugh I'm so confused. Thanks!!

I think your question really belongs here: [Common Application - College Confidential](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/common-application/).

Attach a resume only if a specific school asks for it – otherwise colleges don’t want resumes, as they have enough information from the EC section. See: https://appsupport.commonapp.org/link/portal/33011/33013/Article/944/Attach-a-resume

The app is changed this year and uploading a resume is no longer appropriate, unless as gibby suggests, a particular school asks for one in their supplemental writing section. You do, however, still have the Additional Information space to use as you wish.

Well I founded an organization that’s gotten really big and I wanted to elaborate on what I did with the group during high school, but the two sentences you can write in the activities section isn’t nearly enough. That’s mainly why I wanted to attach the resume.

If I were to elaborate on the organization though, would I put this in the optional essay section or the additional information section? I wanted to write an optional essay on intellectual creativity but now I’m not sure!

Put it in the additional information section and bullet point the details/accomplishments. Make it as easy as possible for admissions to pick out the relevant information. Don’t write an essay on it or put it in paragraph form, just put a header and bullet the important information.

^^ I would also NOT put anything else in the Additional Information section except the details for the organization you started.

great, i’ll do that. thanks everyone!
