Attaching a Resume?

Is it beneficial to attach a resume to the common app?

I don't have that many activities or ECs but I am pretty "involved" in the ECs that I do. Since the commonapp doesn't give that much room, would it be advisable to talk about the same activities I listed and go into further detail on a resume that I can attach?

Would it come off as annoying?

My D attached a resume in the common app under the other information section. I would keep the resume to a reasonable length (2 pages max). If you interview with any school, I’d bring a copy to the interview as well.

My son went into further detail about his major EC in one of his essays - the “optional” essay.

What do you mean by the optional essay?

Like the additional information section?

Yes, the additional information, sorry about the confusion. In that section, he wrote an essay about his major EC.

Interesting.

You should absolutely attach a resume. I was in a similar position as you. My activities were difficult to explain. However, I didn’t lay it out like a resume. I titled the page “Education Related Extracurricular Activities and Accomplishments” and then explained them there (education related bc I am an education major and all my ECs centered around that). I’m sure a resume would do the same job though.
