Has anyone been able to see their financial aid award yet?

This is what my son’s says when we try to access it:

You currently do not have an award notification to view. Please check your financial aid application status at http://www.bc.edu/finaidapp to determine if any application requirements are still outstanding.

I know we filled out the FAFSA and CSS profile, is there some glitch in the system. I’m going to call the financial aid office today, but I was wondering if anyone could see the info.

I called them and I'm going to submit the tax returns, they took his ss# because they think that there is some problem with that and that's why they couldn't see that we have done the FAFSA and CSS. Was your award decent? I have a feeling ours will be zero.

my total fin. aid award was a little over $23,000, which means i'd have to pay almost $30,000 out of pocket. seeing as that amount is more than half our total income, i don't think i'll be attending BC this year :( (maybe they'll reconsider the award, but i doubt it since they're not all that friendly to the middle class). hopefully they'll be kinder to you all!

We were disappointed in BC's financial aid package as well.

Its overall package was about $10,000 less than either Northwestern (totally need-based) or Kenyon (combination of scholarship and need-based grant)

We are still waiting on Oberlin's package.

It doesn't look like she will be going to BC (for this and other reasons).

When I looked at the financial aid link, I couldn't believe they offered $0
aid, only work study and a loan, maybe this is a mistake???
Really disappointed and Northeastern offered Dean's scholarship.
Is there no merit scholarship money at all?? I should have also received some financial aid too. Other schools are offering it.

I'm not even sure if they'll offer us a loan.

UMASS offered us a $3500 loan and gave him a $10,000 a year scholarship and that's only around $18,000 a year. Watch BC will offer nothing and it's $50,000 a year. Where's the fairness?

Well I should get some financial aid, or get a big student loan, I am already paying $50,000 for my older son going to Penn, cannot do another $50, someone has to offer some money here, we applied to Penn again for aid, we'll see what they say.

Emmabelle, did you receive your financial aid information, are you attending for sure, I am surprised that my son did not get anything and we have two in college?

We received our notification of $3,500 in loans - nothing else. My D will not be attending. Actually there was a comment at the bottom that said something to the fact that the other $47,750 could be paid by your family.- Ouch. We are a middle class family. This is my first at college, but BC is out of the financial question.

Colleges take into consideration how many tuitions you are currently paying so many sure to submit that.
There are many scholarship websites that can help defer the cost of college, even by only a little bit a year.

Still no package. I already know that were only going to see the $3,500 loan though. There's no way they are going to offer anything with an EFC of $57,000.

Same for us with work/study added. I hope he at least gets a summer job (working on that) ! I know some jobs offered you earn money and can do homework while not busy, will look for one of them. My other son works as an IT assistant , he has to do about 8-10 hrs/week in the computer lab at his college house to diagnose/repair computers if students come in, if not he reads and does homework.
