Just curious if anyone was turning down Pton after I saw a similar thread on Stanford's board.

I have a friend on the waitlist and was interested in seeing how many CCers went elsewhere

I have a friend on the waitlist and was interested in seeing how many CCers went elsewhere

I want to know too! (more hope for a waitlistee like me!)

my friend is turning down for harvard
other friend turning down for stanford

a friend of mine is turning it down for yale

a friend of mine's turning it down for stanford, and a classmate's turning it (and harvard) down for wash u (i'm almost positive she's getting a full ride there + lots of other goodies)

people declining princeton are going to other colleges of the same tier. i think mainly for location, etc.

Hmmm. One friend turned it down for Vard and the other for a LAC.

not necessarily true, amnesia.

my friend turned down princeton for uc santa cruz. i know, i was like wait WHAT?

what the hell?

my friend turned Princeton down for Stanford, and another for MIT. What whackos!

I know!! ;)

ew LACs. LACs are bad college experiences, why would u want to know everyone in ur school.....

i think its true for all of HYPSM where the schools lose the majority of their students to the other schools in that group. of course there are the rare kids who step out of this group....:D

a friend of mine is turning princeton down for harvard

I would (actually just did) have a hard time turning down Stanford....
Still unsure with my own decision...

stanford ain't an ivy league!

true, but its better then a lot of Ivies...

Know bunch of folks turned down pton fot Harvard, UC Berekeley, UMichigan and Penn.

Also know folks turned down Harvard for MIT, Cornell, Amherst and Cal Tech.

Senioritis, you know you can still change your decision even though you have sent in your enrollment form. You will probably get a refund on your deposit as well because it is unlikely that Princeton would have cashed it in so quickly.

Just call Stanford up and tell them what happened and they would only be to happy to enroll you. This sort of stuff happens to students all the time; admissions staff call it "summer melt."

All 3 people from my school who got into Princeton turned it down

1 is going to Brown, another going to BC, and another chose Chicago

Senioritis, there was a thread on the Parents' Board where parents talked about how it is not unusual to keep thinking about a tough decision, as you have. Don't worry. You can change if you need to, but I bet there were good reasons why you chose Princeton. Maybe you really felt comfortable and met lots of great people if you visited, and the academics are just so incredibly enticing...some things along those lines. I think thoughtful bright people consider things deeply, so: think, and then be HAPPY about the exciting four years to come! (Tigers rock, as you know :) )
