Anyone Else Annoyed?

At how long admission offices take to respond to emails sometimes? It's been like two weeks since I sent off a few emails to a few colleges asking a few questions, and so far only one two of them have responded. Grrrr

Some of them do not answer their emails. You'd be better off calling..

((Their numbers should be on collegeboard.))

Hm, that might explain it

And sometimes they don't return phone calls. It might be better to wait on hold or call back if you can't get through tight away.

It also may tell you a lot about the college and its culture. With one son in college and another filling out apps now, I can tell you there is no rhyme or reason behind what types of schools are "customer service" oriented and which are not. Some of the most "prestigious" schools call or write you right back, while some far "lesser" schools ignore you completely (and, of course, vice versa).

Track those sorts of things; they are often an indicator of the treatment to come if you end up getting into the school in question. Some schools run smoothly, pleasantly, and couldn't be more helpful in every way, while others are like that old SNL skit: "Buh-bye!"
