Anyone else finding upside to remotely doing school?

I’m almost halfway through sophomore year. My ONE upside is a social thing, not academic related. I’m glad we’re not able to do regular PE. My physique ain’t the greatest and it’s nice not needing to worry about people judging my appearance.

I completely agree. I also feel like I can better pay attention since I don’t have as many social distractions. I struggled socially my first two years of HS since I didn’t have many friends and have weaker social skills. Although, sophomore year I did have two friends but we were mainly school friends that didn’t do much together outside of school. My grades have been so much better because when I went in person, I had to deal with social distractions and pressures to “fit in” that distracted me from what was really important. This is why my GPA was lower freshman year and some of sophomore year. I did much better sophomore year(3.5 GPA) but it was still not the best I could do. Although, I do take honors classes though which are obviously harder. Now, my GPA is up to over a 3.7 which is great especially for junior year. Senior year, I plan to aim even higher.

Sounds like you are doing great despite the Covid challenges. Colleges often look for students improving over high school and you are doing just that! :grinning:

Yeah I’ve had an improvement streak where I improve each year and have continued to take harder courses. However, I feel the gpa jump from junior to senior year won’t be as significant as the jump from freshman to junior year.

Do try to keep active (walk, bike ride, aerobics) anyway for your general health.
